Forced to change position

Why is it that I choose a position to play when I create a character, and everytime I'm forced to switch that position and possibly have to fight tooth and nail for entire Seasons to go back to the position that I created my player at?
I want to play shortstop. That's why I created a shortstop. I get drafted by the Tigers. In AA, I'm forced to move to Third Base. By June of that year I get called up to the majors. Still at third base.
I don't talk to my agent until the end of the season where I asked to switch position and he tells me I'm probably Sol
My agent next contacts me in May and tells me I'm still up a creek without a paddle. I tell him I'm happy in Detroit but not at my position. ( which by the way was true I really really like playing for Detroit and I really wanted to help them get better and turn around and hopefully win with them at some point)
Instead, the day after the All-Star Game, I get traded to Atlanta who that uses me at third base and I have to start that entire process completely over again at the end of the season because you only talk to your agent in May and at the end of the year.
Why does your game force people to play position they don't want to play, and once in that position we have no way to go back to our original position that doesn't require so much time being wasted because we can't initiate discussions with our agents. That is so frustrating. I literally simulated multiple Seasons because I hate playing third base.I created a shortstop because I want to play shortstop. Let me play shortstop.
This is easily the most frustrating aspect of this game. I wanted to delete that player start a new career on second base so that when they move me to shortstop I could actually play shortstop. That's so dumb. -

After being traded to Atlanta, I get called into the manager's office and offered a move from 3B to...
Left. [censored]. Field.Like what &. Why for real?

What is your player type? I find that they ask the 'Mr Utility' player type to move over all the time. Last year I started as a second baseman an within my first month was asked to play shortstop. After moving up to AAA I played 3B as well. Not easy playing on the left side of the infield with a noodle arm. -
In 19 (and now 20), you can expect to be called in to change positions early in your AA career. If you say "no", you'll be benched. I typically go along with it. In another month or so, the manager will say either "we want you to go back to your old position", or "we want you to stay where you are". If you go back, all is good. If you don't want to move to the new position, you can argue. In that case, I was able to stay in my original position... but... was traded a few weeks later. Just my own personal experience... it's frustrating.

One of my least favorite changes in RTTS. They had to have reasons for their "story" and cut scenes so they created this.
People choose their position in RTTS because that is the position that they want to play for whatever reason. Nobody chooses a SS because they want to actually play the outfield.

The thing is, I'd understand trying different positions in the minors, but having to stay at that position for entire seasons, with absolutely no way to change back is infuriating and I feel like now I've lost my chance to actually win with the tigers as now I'm on my third team due to demanding trades so I can play ss.
That shouldn't happen. -

I found in 20 you can say no and they accept it. They don't force you to change like before. I have a SS playing in Tigers now AAA. The manager asked me to play LF and I said I wanted to stay put he said ok.
That happened to me in Atlanta, but it was a llmove form 3b to left field. I refused and he was OK, but I've heard if you refuse in the minors, you get benched and they move you anyway.

I actually play RTTS 20 a lot. The only positions I HAVEN'T selected at start is RF and P, mostly because the Toon's arm sucks early on, & I want to play more than once every 5 game-calendar days Anyway, the OF positions seem to glitch more often than the IF. I have rage quit twice because late in a very close game, a fly ball that I am well positioned to catch lands right next to me allowing tying or winning runs to score. Sony stated they fixed that, however as of August 2 it still happened. The manager should instead say "We have needs elsewhere, what other position are you interested in trying out/learning?" At least give option of IF vs. OF or C.

That sucks about shortstop. My son taught me the thing about not saving after a catastrophic event, just cutting out and coming back in before the blow hits and seeing what happens the next time as many times as you need. When I first started playing I just couldn't orient myself on the Showtime throwing, and made about 40 throwing errors in 60 or so games at 3B. I made it to the Bigs before I corrected my throwing , and they didn't force me to move. I find at least in 20 when they ask you to make a move you can say no and they'll live with it, but maybe that requires playing at a certain level.
