This is a great post and the replies have been just as enjoyable to read through. I feel like there is some gray area around the whole PED era. There are those that have the stigma attached to them and then there are those who have kinda flew under the radar. We have Giambi, Cano and feel like players like Palimero, Andy Pettite are some that can also fly under the radar in the future. And then those big names Clemens McGwire Sosa and Bonds that will never be able to disassociate their names from steroids. And then there's Arod that has been very active with MLB since PED and retirement that he's really trying to cast himself in a different light.
bonds never needed peds, he saw how it pumped others up who werent even close to his skill and he figured why not man, they aint getting caught/busted/spit on, they getting paid- i wouldve done the same had I bonds' talent been in me. bonds NEVER needed peds, he just showed everyone what the best will do with enhancements- bonds is the greatest player that ever lived. i didnt see ruth play, i saw bonds- bonds took the pirates to the pirates to the playoffs 3 years in a row way before peds. bonilla was there but he left before '92 season and lo and behold bonds got 'em there again. in '93 bonds went to the giants, they won 103 games and missed the playoffs- the giants werent good before bonds and did little but get bonds in the offseason, mlb restructured the playoff format because the giants won 103 games and didnt go to the playoffs because atlanta had 104 wins, the phillies had less and beat atlanta, giants shouldve beat dodgers in last game yada yada, barry bonds who is who you should/would/will always start a new baseball team with, if you have barry your chances of not losing are small. you kids love mike trout- trout hasnt/doesnt take his team to the playoffs, barry did- barry bonds is better than any player playing today. trout has numbers but tout doesnt inspire a team to win even with joe maddon this year. barry made you believe, trout doesnt, be quiet anyone who thinks trout is better than barry. barry was better than ruth and aaron(aaron is clearly the second best player behind bonds, ruth had gehrig and many others= bonds and aaron had themselves and inspired scrubs to win(aaron had eddie mathews, bonds had jeff kent other than that go to sports reference and try to wrap your head around the truth/numbers.
Huh? Okay. I've never made any cases for one side or another. This seems like a post or conversation of its own. Why an I being called a kid? Where did I mention Trout?

I’m sure Ty Cobb is on a short list of one the most reviled and despicable human beings to ever live. He allegedly killed a black man for merely looking at his wife. He was a notoriously dirty player that would literally do anything for his benefit and yet he is a part of this game. So if we’re going to hold people to a certain standard off the field then stop putting that reprobate in the game. If not than stop leaving great players out of the game for actions that have zero to do with their actions on the field!!!
@KILLERPRESENCE4
Most of the "spicy" stuff concerning Ty Cobb are from the Al Stump book "Cobb".
Mr. Stump is a discredited writer and known plagiarist. Movies like Field of Dreams and Cobb (starring Tommie Lee Jones) furthered this false narrative. There was no evidence that the stuff Stump alleges to happened actually happened. If you really want a well researched, footnoted look at Ty Cobb, I would suggest
"Ty Cobb: A Terrible Beauty" by Charles Leershen.
It really opened my eyes regarding the great Ty Cobb. You can also find some of his lectures on YouTube regarding the book and Cobb. -

Bottom line is it’s a baseball game not a political referendum on someones beliefs.

Look into that book. Cobb won't look despicable. He is not the monster he is made out to be.
But I agree. It is a game and that was the point of starting this thread until morons hijack it with nonsense. -

Tu eres tremendo come mierda
yea im wrong, you just went spanish because you know truth man- i own you son.
Go get an education before you embarrass yourself with those that actually do have educations. Another troll bites the dust
roflmao, youre a joke kid- shhhhh
You keep deflecting!!! Why can’t you own up to fact that attacked my post without getting your facts correct. Many of us on this forum would agree that your actions are the childish ones. Yet you keep referring to me as a kid, when in fact there is a very good possibility that you are probably much younger and obvious far less educated than I am.
my facts are right kid and as far as baseball is concerned I know I know more than you, it took you awhile to think of a comeback lol, you are a child son-you dont know anything of what you speak, you just speak but hey youre a tough girl, dm me and i will share how we can meet in person and watch the light leave your eyes when you know i speak truth you will not be the first and obviously not the last. if youre as tough as you think or say, dm me bro.
The fact that you say you believe youre right ends the conversation. I believe that you are just trying to save your ego so by deflecting the attention away from your erroneous post you believe it will somehow get buried and you won’t have to face the fact that you’re wrong. So once again get your facts straight before you attack people.

You say to look at "sports reference" and look at the truth/numbers. Ruth is #1 in WAR, #1 in OPS, #1 in OPS+, #1 in slugging %, #1 in offensive WAR, what truth am I looking for?
