I have been playing The Show and RTTS for two years and 19 for a while and just recently, I started getting subbed out in the first inning in every game. If we are the away team, I get to bat then am subbed out for defense. If we are home team, I don't even get to bat. It happened in the middle of a season and continued through the end of that season, then started the next season the same way. I don't understand why it is happening. I haven't had a meeting with the manager or been on the IR list. I'm in the top of the league stats, so not sure what is happening. It's not like I am sitting on the bench to start.....I am in the lineup then benched as soon as we go to play defense.

Is this happening to anyone else? Is there a glitch? Is there a fix? Could I have hit a wrong setting? HELP.

By the way, in real time, this started happening last week.

Ask for a trade or a position move when your agents talks to you. It's helped for me in the past. I often start out at 3rd/ 1st base and get moved to the Outfield. My guess would be that the team your on thinks they have better options at the moment.

samguenther1987 - I did and got traded and made it through half the season playing, then the same happened for the rest of the season. Heck, I was batting third in the All-Star Game and the same thing happened.

Seems like it's just horrible luck and the teams your on undervaluing your player. I've been there it's frustrating.

Doesn't make since....I am in the fourth year and was a regular starter in the previous years.....MVP, etc. etc.

If they undervalue, why would I start every game and get subbed out in the first inning? Doesn't make sense and has never happened before. I finished the season and the same thing happened on opening day the following season.

Maybe you have performance bonuses in your contract based on defense or innings played and the teams are trying to save some dough? Lol

What is your players position and what is his defense like? As crazy as it sounds it could be as small a thing as the CPU thinking your player does not have enough points on defense (Even though like you've said your an all star). If it's that frustrating though I personally would just start my RTTS over again.

First base. I came up as a 3B and got moved to 1B. But, even if that is the case, it doesn't make sense that I get subbed out in the first inning of every game. I had about 50 plate appearances over the last 70 games or so...still won the HR title. Just doesn't make sense. It has to be a setting or a glitch.

I will start over if it doesn't change soon. But I just finished a career not that long ago and started a new career, so not sure I want to start over. But may be the only answer

The roster and lineup management is hilariously bad in RTTS for me, they are always doing insanely dumb things that make no sense and wouldn't happen in reality.

They benched me for 5 games for failing to steal bases with my slow as molasses catcher. Meanwhile I was light years ahead of all MLB in every hitting stat and for AS and MVP voting. 👍

Definitely sounds like a logic fail in the game. Something has happened in the save file behind the scenes (out of your control) that is triggering it each time you start a game. Unfortunately it looks like the best course of action would be to start a new RTTS player. Ordinarily logging a bug report (with video evidence) with SDS would be a good idea but there's no bug report option here anymore.

If you're going to buy 20 my suggestion would be to wait and just do start a new player then. The reason for this is that there may be features in the new version that aren't activated in a carry-over save. For example, batter vs pitcher stats don't flash up or get mentioned in the commentary in my carry-over Franchise save that I started in The Show 16 and continued each year. It's only a minor thing but there may be other things that don't happen in carry-overs.

Good luck, I hope this has helped.

Thanks...that what I figured, but was frustrating. I agree with someone else in the community here that there should be some sort of "lifestyle" story option like buying a house/car, etc. Or using your salary to buy things within the game. And that the player should be able to request a meeting with the manager or call your agent.

The game makes zero sense at times. Bro challenge to get 6 hits over 3 games. Game only allows me 5 plate appearences (I went 4 for 5) because I pinch hit late in 1sy and 3rd games. I wasn't given opportunity to complete challenge. Just one of many flaws the coders should have fixed before launch.(If challenge then minimum # plate appearences) Learned this in 6th grade...

Oh you mean like the challenge to advance the runner in the first three pitches then you get three pitches way out of the zone you can't possibly hit

This is happening to me, but the opposite. I’m the best hitter on the team, 3rd in every lineup, but I’ll start a game and instead of starting from the beginning, it leaves me out of the lineup and asks if I want to play or simulate to next appearance.

If I play, it subs me for the 1B, which isn’t my usual position. If I simulate, it will pretty much leave me out of every game.

    Feels like a bug.
