Since I haven’t received enough vitriol for expressing an unpopular opinion, here are more.
A Hot Dog is a sandwich
Cereal is not a soup, but it may be a stew
Star Wars is just an OK movie
Derek Jeter was a bad defenderCome at me!!!

I feel like number #4 is almost the opposite now, that's probably a very popular opinion
I'll fight you on #3 though, the movies may not be the best ever, but the universe they created and all the T.V. shows and books and such makes them more than ok
The Back-Half of Season 7 of Star Wars the Clone Wars is probably up there in best T.V Show endings ever put to screen

I would agree that the universe the film spawned is greater than the film itself, Return of the Jedi and Empire Strikes back are the rare cases where the sequel is better than the original. Let’s not talk about the prequels though, or as I refer to them “Galactic CSPAN”

The prequels themselves definitely are not great, but the writers redeemed that era of Star Wars with Star Wars the clone wars animated series
Ahsoka Tano is my favorite Star Wars character.
-
First 2 points are irrelevant because the whole points of those arguments are to get people riled up. I don’t think I’ve met a single person who actually cares about a hotdog being a sandwich or Cereal being a soup. 3rd point just depends on which movies you are talking about because its pretty widely accepted that the prequels are trash. Number 4 is just a fact lol

Clone Wars Animated series is really good. I enjoyed Mandalorian as well. Why do you suppose TV Star Wars has been so much better than the Films lately? Lower stakes? The episodic nature being more in line with the old film serials that George Lucas based Star Wars on to begin with?

Well T.V Shows do lend themselves more time to introduce and show us a character growing.
But also Dave Filoni, he directs most of the T.V. Star wars stuff, he knows exactly what fans want
Take J.J Abrams for instance, a very talented movie director no doubt, but he's better when the mystery doesn't have to be explained, he did ok in Episode 7, but set up stuff that he was never supposed to answer, which doesn't lend itself well to Star Wars material
-
Taking a shot at Jeter’s defense may be the coldest “hot take” I’ve ever heard.
-
Dont ever tell a Star Wars or Star Trek Fan that Space Balls is the best space based show/movie. You have been warned.

I mean, you can like both. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and I think Space Balls is hilarious.

TV Shows giving more time for character development can backfire.
Using your JJ Abrams example, he spun the wheels on Lost for years, ruining the legacy of the show (though mainly because ABC wanted to milk that cow for all it was worth, and kept ordering new episodes.)

My opinion was probably biased by the fact that I saw Spaceballs first and have been combing the desert ever since

I would think so, but I still come across this argument a lot. People are blinded by the fact that he made a lot of flashy plays without realizing that a better defender wouldn’t have had to work as hard. And jeter was a very hard worker. Very smart and never gave up on a play. Will always give him immense credit for that.
Judging by your profile pic, I’m surprised you didn’t weigh in on the other takes

1, i guess, i mean if a gyro is a sandwich, than yes a Hot Dog would have to be.
-
Never thought of it as either
-
The original SW is great, ESB is excellent, the rest of them are all inferior film.
-
I laugh at anyone who disagrees with that statement. Back when he was winning gold gloves is when i found out how much of that award is just a popularity contest.

I had never heard the cereal argument until the other day, when it was all over one of my feeds for some reason. I never gave it any thought until about an hour ago when I needed a counterpoint to the hotdog argument lol

I dont think a soup or stew consists of pouring a liquid onto a solid, both are mixed together and cooked and are both hot. Id say its neither.

I agree, but to play devils advocate, it could be a type of gazpacho

That takes away the heat element. Is chili a soup? And what if the chili is so think there is no liquid. I think cereal is its own thing. It doesn't require milk to be considered eating cereal, if you eat any component that is non liquid of a soup, you are eating something completely different.

Unpopular opinion number 5
Chili is a soup/stew
