Question - does attendance impact team revenue?

The reason it's important in franchise is the new rebranding/relocation feature in which you choose your home stadium.
If attendance impacts revenue then the minor league stadiums are out of the question.

They don't affect revenue at all or else my current franchise team would be broke as a joke despite fielding a good team

There’s a thread on operation sports forums with this same question; a fellow did a couple of tests where the result I believe was no it doesn’t. I think. Check that forum for the thread, it was a very well done experiment.
Caveat: the tests were done in The Show 19 but I can’t imagine there would be some work done on it in The Show 20.

Shocking that they ignore something else in franchise mode that is broken to help sell packs that real players care nothing about. They only want to show these cards for extra money, they sold out.

According to developers that’s all everyone wants. Give me franchise modes where I can unlock old school players that I can expand with expansion. 2k is creative enough in basketball for expansion when the league isn’t expanding, even OOTP baseball has expansion available. What they are offering is a relabel of the city name and logo, it’s easiest and laziest move ever.

"Real" players apparently don't play DD.I don't think that's what the poster meant by "real players"....I think they meant that in general real DD players understand that there's not much marginal value in buying packs from the Show Shop.
