Why in the world would my catcher ignore the baserunner running home on a botched squeeze?

was it a pitch in the dirt, that your catcher picked up and just stood there and watched the runner slide past him and score?

Had this happen to me over the weekend. Prestige Posey catches a throw to get the runner out well in advance of the runner and just stood there never tagging him. Frustrating but still won the game so didn't think much of it.

The guy I was playing was a big squeeze guy so I threw a high fastball and he missed the bunt, then my catcher stood there and let the runner slide into home.

sounds like the same thing I've had happen a few times, mine have just been on pitches in the dirt, they don't roll away, my catcher is right in the baseline with the ball in his glove, but never even attempts to tag....very infuriating
