In my opinion, Trout was just Phase 1. The rarest card is yet to come......I am guessing it will be Honus again, and that many of those 30 FOFT in Phase 3 will be required for it.

Exactly, that's why i'm working on the Ta's now. I have every team up to 30% now, long ways to go.

Funny, I play mostly offline.....just the morning I got the last one to 100% (on all 30), mostly by doing exchanges many weeks ago during a market crash, then playing out the final 10% with 250 inning and whatever the hitting or pitching stats grind was.

My debate now is, do I buy up silvers in a few weeks to prep for Fall TA, OR is it too risky with the stat updates once a week. Probably going to speculate on some bronze's and hope they go to silver......

Going to need to buy back some of the AS/Veteran/Breakout cards I sold off this past week eventually too.........to prepare for that.

So...now that we see the sellable FOTF cards aren’t necessary for the trout collection (but certainly help with that collection if you can’t get all 30 of the first round guys), what do we think: still holding on to everyone for a massive collection, or do we really think the XP/Stubs/Ballin bundle are it for collecting them?

I could have trout in 5 minutes if I sold these guys - but I’m reluctant in the event there’s a huge reward for them down the road.

I think you are absolutely insane to not sell them and get trout. There's no way they would make them sellable and not part of this collection knowing that people will sell them in order to get trout just to have them have to buy them back in three months. That would be scummy and will not happen. Go get you a trout. Once you get 100% of all team affinities completed after stage 4 there will be a honus type of reward

I think they do it all the time - it’s why gold cards people sold for 1200 stubs in April are now A) unattainable and therefor B) selling for 30k.

Also, I find it too hard to believe the reward for collecting 60 FOTF cards is 5 Ballin packs.

So you're going to hold on to 30 cards that you may not even use hoping for a collection that will never happen? To each their own. Good luck. Trout is a beast though.

Trout was the collection. This reminds me of last year when everyone said collect all the bosses for the “end reward”.

What’s left in this game is maybe a Topps now collection reward. That’s a collection I could still see. A Finest Collection like last year. WS, BR, and inning bosses (obviously), Showdown Extreme, and we will probably get some new kind of grind like last year’s Vlad.

The big collection reward is over. From here on out it’s grinding rewards.

I have 100% of all team affinities completed. I only have four left on my team because I actually use them. Hershiser, brett, henke and thome. Right now thome is on the bubble. Stan is a god at 1B.

Only other thing I can see stage 3 being used for, collection wise, is a collect towards stage 4 boss and additional player specific stats towards stage 4. If you’ve already locked in to prestige you can get some TA points next stage likely.

Make no mistake - if it was between holding them or getting trout at all, I’d sell them. It’s really the difference between getting Trout TODAY, or in a couple weeks (basically, do i spend money on prospects to bypass getting one more prestige - I’m close on 3 or 4 guys, and/or overpay for a Postseason card rather than wait 2 XP levels for Springer).

I totally see your point - I could just see something big team affinity related that requires collecting some, if not all, of these guys. And obviously if that happens, their prices will be absurd...so I’d rather wait 2 weeks for trump, and still have the FOTF cards.

But I asked for opinions - and appreciate them - so I’m obviously still kinda on the fence.

I got you. If you are going to unlock him in a week or two then that makes sense. I thought you were just saying you weren't going to unlock truck unless you sold all those. prices are still high right now I'm not sure if they will stay this way all year. Imagine selling 25 Tim infinities at 30-50 k a piece.
