Vices/Hobbies beyond DD

Diamond Dynasty is one of my favorite things about baseball season (when it occurs in a more typical fashion). I tell my wife that at least my hobby is cheap, and not really destructive or anything. I believe it would be safe to say I’m addicted.
But I also have a few more interests. I used to have a modded out 99 Jeep TJ... got rid of that money pit last month. So that hobby doesn’t really exist anymore.
If I had another hobby that takes up a ton of time and resources, it would be Universal Studios Orlando. My wife and I have annual passes, and we frequent 7-8 hour drives there when we get a chance.
I thought about posting this when My wife texted me this earlier this evening. The place has been at about 10-20% capacity, so this is about the epitome of how we look at our schedule.
What are some of your hobbies that allows you to escape from The Show every once and a while?

Kids, wurk, homeownership. DD is my only hobby these days

I love writing, I'm in the middle of attempting to write a novel + I usually do quite a bit of fantasy baseball writing, though I haven't as much this season with everything going on.
I also collect baseball cards in real life

People just don't understand the work in homeownership. Finishing a remodel on our guest bathroom has cut into my time playing DD for sure.
Also tough with a 10 month old and a 3 yo.

@dantheranman you ain't lyin! We have no kids at the moment, but I definitely have a few things to do around the house to keep it up. Especially that I'm pretty much a stay at home husband during summer months now that I'm not coaching football lol.

Good post. Since i'm currently unemployed DD has taken over. Easy for me to say i'm addicted as well. Thankfully I train Jiu Jitsu so that takes up a few hours a day. Other than that bike rides to the beach and honestly if Ranked gets on my nerves I go hit my punching bag. Haha.

I like to collect horror/Sci fi movies and of course baseball cards, I'm also on a softball team (skipped this year due to covid unfortunately) and I run and normally do the Vancouver Sun each year, and of course work fulltime.

I'm older so housework is a "hobby" for me these days. Yard work. I work in higher ed, so I take classes for fun every academic year. I read and collect comics too. DD/online modes have been the new addition to my hobbies this year, but I'd played RTTS the last two years.

Although it's cancelled this year, you should look into Holloween Horror Nights at Universal. I'm not into horror/sci fi, but I wanted to go for the experience... almost had my other half talked into it, and the very next day they called it off
-
Also forgot to mention I work full time in water treatment. I am a union steward, and go to school full time. I dont have too much time for hobbies.

Cook, eat, pet the dog.

Yah, so many things cancelled because of this. I was all set to see Tool for the first time a month before covid hit.
It's deffinetly worth a thought though once things get going again to make a trip down there. I hear it's a good time.

make your own AR lowers? lol. If you "lost them in a boating accident" I understand.

Outside of work I spend 90% of my time pretending to be a comedy writer and 10% of my time failing to actually be a comedy writer.
-
Collecting real-life baseball cards that are featured in this game. I'd have more money if not for that

I’ve been in cancer remission since mid-March (My second bout with the [censored]) so I’ve had alot of time of my hands. I’ve been gaining alot more energy lately and have started golfing and playing softball again. General homeownership work and DD
Oh yeah, and two boys, ages 9 and 6. One of which is autistic so I have my hands full with them lol

Truth. I have a 9 month old and my PS schedule revolves around her. Thankfully this year I’ve been “working” from home. I don’t think I’ll buy 21, not because I don’t want to but because of time restraints with a toddler. I value my 8 hrs of sleep so late night isn’t an option.

Man kids and wife for sure take up time on DD but great to balance it out! It makes it hard to grind new content tho SDS be getting me in trouble on fridays lol

First off, let me tell you @wingo18, that this was an excellent idea for a topic. I commend you for coming up with it and sharing, as I've really enjoyed reading a lot of folk's posts here, so thank you!
I have also become unemployed since the pandemic hit so I've found myself with a lot more time in 2020. As far as hobbies go, I'm an avid collector of pretty much all things sports but I am especially drawn to those McFarlane and Import Dragon figures. I'd say I'm nearing a total amount of about 100 of them. My collection is mostly made up of NFL figures but I do own quite a few MLB (only a few McFarlane but quite a few Import Dragon) and NHL. I don't bother with NBA or basketball much. I also have a ton of video game, movies, and T.V. series figures; the Walking Dead, Mortal Kombat, Dark Souls, Street Fighter, and horror movie icons.
I also just started collecting baseball cards again. I haven't sought after any trading cards since I was a kid but I'm mainly just buying the iconic cards we see almost every year in Diamond Dynasty and current White Sox players. I've been buying up all the Luis Robert and Eloy Jimenez cards I can find. The most addicting thing about collecting new baseball cards is they have so many variants of refractors that are just shiny, beautiful, and some of them are stupid expensive. So that takes up a ton of my time and money alongside my video game addiction.
Oh, and I'm a big Dead By Daylight player on PS4. That game has replaced fighting games for me as I just turned 30 in March and for whatever reason I just can't keep up in those competitive scenes like I used to.
