I landed some big diamonds from TA packs. Also you can do 6th inning showdown over and over again, get 3 show pack, 1 gold player pack, stubs and xp, the last reward is a HL that is for Alan Trammell SS. I have done this 5 times now, you get the gold pack for beating the first boss, Some just play the first section of it get 1 show pack if you beat the mission and a GOLD player.

I am not sure where your are at or how you are doing the LS collection, I recently watched a video can not remember who it was.
Best way to get it done is to do it by division and by league. Sell off everything you can sell in your inventory. do not lock cards in for other teams in other divisions. If you do the NL Central first, finish all of the AL Central, small goals at a time one team one division at a time. Do not think of it as getting Mantle think of it as completing that division and moving on to the next.
I think I am going to do it that way. I have both ones you have mentioned. I think I am going to go after AL East next because it seems the next easy, even of Cole is the most expensive i have left.

It’s all about patience sometimes. Trying to make quick stubs is stressful. Sometimes you just get lucky with investments also. Check your chat, too.

I will try that out. I am always nervous about paying to play showdown. Don't want to lose stubs. But if I at least get through the first boss I should break even or even get ahead.
Plus I am going to try completing all the pitching moments that I can. I am better at pitching than hitting.

6th Inning showdown is where it's at. Rewards are great and most of the challenges are short.

Cole was the last one I needed, I finished it this last weekend. Once you have him then the rest not be that bad if he is your last big diamond to get.

I am feeling really discouraged right now about the game. I have been flipping cards a lot lately and I'm still only at about 350k in stubs. I just did the math and I still need about another 800k or so to complete the live collection. I have been playing this game almost every day since pre-order launch and I still am so far away. I don't spend money on stubs and I am not very good online. Thinking about switching to franchise or quitting for a while because of feeling this way. Any encouragement or tips would be appreciated.
I totally get this! I was pretty discouraged yesterday when I made a spreadsheet and saw how far off I was on Trout. I am decent enough at the game, play a couple of hours a night and a little more on the weekends. Also did a fair bit of flipping, my best days are maybe 20k, average days are 5k. I'm at 430k in the bank and just need the NL high diamonds. I didn't invest for the Trout drop because I was nervous a TA3 market tank would happen, and I need those stubs to finish Live. The problem is a lot of people made stubs and they have those stubs to spend pushing prices up, so I was pretty disappointed about being further away on those high diamonds. I looked at the last market peak on those cards and it corrected pretty quick though, so i'm hoping I can get those guys for around 115k each or less, which means I'm there.
For me, my moment of distress was something like "what even are my goals anymore???"... Like if I get Mantle, great. How much longer am I going to stick this game out to really enjoy him?

Definitely give franchise a try. I play both DD and franchise with the Phillies on HOF and it’s a blast. Also, if you have a PS4 pro and a HDR TV the game looks amazing when playing franchise. I play my dd games on a monitor and it’s not quite as good looking. Also, I use totally different camera views in franchise vs DD. The zoomed out cameras look phenomenal. Personally use SZ3. It’s a shame it’s so difficult to compete on a TV in DD with those views...
