Collection reward or mantle
-
Mantle seems to absolutely dominate. Always scared to pitch to him.
-
I agree with the others and id go for Mantle. He's great in every phase of the game and the big collection is going to cost a LOT more, especially at first. I say get Mickey and then grind for the big one if you want to. As time goes on the cards you need for that one will get cheaper and cheaper. It'll still cost a ton but not as much as it will at the beginning.
-
Go for Mantle, collection will be more expensive and something you can work on later
-
Outside of prospect cards, you would get back similar card types to those you would be selling to complete the Mantle collection. You get a Prime Mantle, Signature Biggio, Awards Sheffield as well as the 7 teams reward cards, and the division rewards.
-
Mantle is great. And the prestige aspect to him makes him worth it.
-
In getting Mantle you will also get players towards the Big Collection such as Garret Anderson for the Angels who is part of Billy Wagner reward who is part of Biggio reward. You'll collect a lot of cards as a byproduct of getting Mantle.

Currently have 430k, 7 teams left for mantle. That’s going to cost 900k give or take for the big diamonds that I have left.
I could sell the prospects I have saved which should be 100k or so, I have 60-70k in prime cards to sell, I could get rid of 99 Mo who I’m so so with, and there other cards I have I could unload. That should draw me in close to getting what I need for mantle. Or should I save my stubs for the collection ? I don’t have any of the hrd cards , I only have 2 of the stage 3 TAs, only 8 stage 2 TAs etc etc. so the big collection would be a pita for me from the sounds of it. Is it worth going broke of everything I have to get mantle?
Mantle is the best card in the game and will be all year no doubt about it. I'm drooling over a Barry bonds / stocker card but I still think mantle is over all the better card. I say do the collection he is well worth it.
-
And by completing all of the divisions and both leagues you get back 90,000 stubs! With all the other players needed for the big collection.
-
As others have said Mantle hands down. Hank Aaron would be the only person in the big collection that wpuld make me slightly regret spending the stubs on Mantle. That Switch hitting is super useful for me on HOF level.
-
So the question stands. Complete NL or AL first? NL May be a bit cheaper but not by much. Right now I have 597k and still some stuff to sell if I decide to for go the collection tomorrow
-
I did the NL First, and waited for Trout to come down in price. Plus, Sheffield is a beast. Your likely going to need that live Series collection for the overall collection, so I'd get that done first. Its going to give you a lot of other cards you'll also be able to use for the collection...

I am with everyone else. LS Collection reward was better last year, and is gonna be REALLY hard to beat this year as well.
Just to make it clear I meant Mantle. Title is kinda confusing because Mantle is the collection reward lol. -

Biggio has been more useful (for me). Both great don't get me wrong but Biggio's speed and versatility have been helpful in late game scenarios especially with his secondary positions.

You might have to get Mantle for the collection reward

It may be likely. I might not go for this collection reward however...I'm just about to get Mantle! I'd like stubs to upgrade my bullpen lol
