Hello, I hope you're all doing well. I've been playing Bo Bichette's 86 diamond card out of position at 2nd base for almost 3 months, instead of shortstop. The defensive play is still pretty good for him at 2nd base.

I'm thinking about picking up Royals prospect, 89 Bobby Witt Jr., to replace Bichette at 2nd. I have some questions for the community.

    1. Would it be a good idea to replace the 86 with an 89 as a rule of thumb, even though Bichette's hitting attributes are all higher (aside from PWR vs. LHP)?

    2. Bobby Witt Jr.'s card does not list a single secondary position. What would happen if I played him out of postion at 2nd base? I've never put a player in a secondary position who has no secondary positions listed.

Any advice would be appreciated. Take care!

    Have you considered....
Sandberg is free from XP rewards and 99 OVR Jackie could be had from grinding. You also get a 94 All Star Jackie card along the way.
Jackie has a ton of secondary positions as well.

I am not well versed in XP and how it contributes to card opportunities and packs. I think I had an 88 Jackie Robinson not long after I began playing. Then I went on a kick where I was only playing with current players. I recently distanced myself from that when I started playing with Reggie Jackson's card, which I think was in the same pack as Ryne Sandberg, though I could be wrong.

Yes, Reggie was in the same pack as Sandberg. You get that pack every 100 levels or as you change from one color tier to another.

The Didi card that olivegarden2 mentioned is great also and can play 2nd. Witt's value is inflated due to speculation for tomorrow's super collection reveal.

I don't know how to prestige Didi Gregorious or even get him for free. I mainly play conquest each day, ranked seasons two or three times a week, and batting practice when I need it. The other features and parts of the game, I don't know much about. But I'm thinking that Moments, March To October and other parts are where I could be missing out on a lot of good, free cards. Thank you!

To answer your position question. playing at a secondary is a 5point fielding penalty, playing at a position that isn't a secondary " out of position" is a very severe penalty and at 1B and catcher they will drop quite a lot and make very bad throws.

That sounds like a good idea! Johnny Cueto's 92 diamond is in the same pack as Witt Jr., and I am always open to trying to work with any diamond pitchers, though I think at lower levels of Ranked Seasons like where I'm at now, much higher fastball velocity is needed. That's the upcoming pack for me that I should've referenced from the beginning of the thread. Thank you.

Thank you for the information about secondary positions. It sounds like if I pick up Bobby Witt Jr., I'd have to play him at his normal shortstop, and likely move Lindor's 87 card to 2nd or 3rd base if possible.

I picked up Witt a long time ago because he went to high school a couple miles away from me and I felt like supporting the local kid.

I dont think I ever used his card.

I would recommend that route. Witt's defense won't be hurt by playing him at his natural SS position and Lindor's defense is good enough to still play at 2B or 3B.

Also, to help with another message of yours from above. Didi Gregorius can be unlocked for free by completing a series of Moments and Exchanges. It's found by clicking the following: Programs-Monthly Awards-April. You'll unlock other decent cards along the way too.

That Bichette card is sneaky good. His 86 and that 89 Royce Lewis are underrated cards.

I use more junk than FB in online play, Try to find what the other players weakness is when I think they will adjust I change my strategy in pitching, I do not care to pitchers that throw 100.
