Can anyone just not beat the Dennis Martinez boss to save their life?
-
I think I'm reasonably competent at Showdown and have beaten the team affinities ones for stage 1, 2 and 3 multiple times each and have beaten every inning showdown besides the first one.
However, nothing I do can slow down Dennis Martinez for the 6th inning. I've now lost to him three times and the combination of movement and all of his pitches being pretty slow just completely throws me off. I've drive in the guy from third, maybe get another run in but I'll then inevitably hit into at least one double play and when you've only got 9 outs, that's brutal.
Is anyone else struggling with Dennis who usually does fine in showdown or am I just the worst hitter on the game against him?

Just slow your bat down. I'm beating him on repeat for the free show pack and gold pack. His curve ball usually ends up out of the zone, so don't chase!

I beat the 5th inning showdown against Mo and it gave me confidence heading into this one. I did lose the first time and had to redraft, but won the whole thing in only my second try. I loaded up on lefties. Patience and wait for your pitch!!! Lefties came in really handy again Maddux too!

I beat him first try,but he was real tough, pick one pitch and/or one spot and don't miss when you get it,that's how I did it.i sat FB down, everything else middle and up and hit when I got them and still made 6 outs,,but did win.

I can handle Martinez but Maddux gets me every time.

I started down 15-10 to Maddux. Watched some pitches and ended up with bases loaded with somewhere between 9-12 outs. 97 Bellinger hit a grand slam and confidence was down. Musial came in and hit a 2run double to win it for me. I got more excited about those 70 stars than anything in the 6th inning so far. Great boost for the time spent.

I'm having trouble with him. Low offspeed is my kryptonite.

Or..... you can switch your hitting view to pitcher and you’ll know what he’s going to throw before he throws it. I know, it’s a bit cheap but with these showdowns seemingly being tougher than normal it really helps out.

I had issues with the 6th inning. Took me over a day to get it. Most people say it was easy but not for me.

The 6th inning showdown was by far the hardest one but I completed it first time but not without a few rage inducing moments

Draft a team full of lefty hitters and look sinker with Martinez. Back to back homers by Seager and Pedersen beat him for me.
-
i actually didnt have any trouble with him or maddux i guess im better against slower pitchers because anything over 97 and im always late on no matter what i do .. i had all lefties also except for eric Davis and Saurez they really helped against both pitchers

I usually don’t struggle with innings showdowns but Rivera and Martinez were both very aggravating to hit
-
I love these junk tossing guys. Now the guys that throw cutters and fastballs. I hated the Rivera showdown.
