Okay here is a honest review. Everyone bats above .330 in WS and by the time you get there your ERA is +5. You don’t need to keep entering these threads only to be disappointed it wasn’t a WS player telling you how effective some pitcher is, none of them are.
If he’s good in World Series that means he’s useable in World Series. There are plenty of high rated pitchers that will get 10+ runs scored on them in the first inning. Hal, Marichal, Oswalt

Another example of why player reviews and recommendation threads are the worst posts on here. FYI that is not a slam on the OP, its has a lot more to do with the reactions to the OP. Most of those guys should already know what kind of pitcher does and doesn't work in the upper divisions.

Not every card will be good for everyone, I like to paint corners and this game does not like to call strikes on the edges. If Maddux gets those calls yeah he will be good for me, I am in the 500-600 range in RS. Just becuase one or two players can hit him well or read his pitches easily does not mean every player will. It seems like it does not matter what pitcher you use in WS they all get smashed. That tells you that pitching sucks in this game and SDS does not care. The one thing that should be change for 2021 is giving the strike on the edges.

He likes the card who cares if he is a 500 player. I rarely get past 600 each RS because the trolls that you get match up with past that ranking make the game no fun anymore. Regardless, he likes the card and if you think it’s a trash card than choose a different boss. I prefer pitcher bosses because that’s the portion of the game I have the most control over.

It's neither fake, misleading nor dishonest, just because it isn't what YOU want to hear. You can pick ANY card and find good players who can or can't hit/pitch with it.

I don't think his velocity is so much worse than Orel's that it is completely out of the realm of possibility that Maddux can be successful. Someone that can dot and mix pitches can [censored] someone up with him.

Nobody said you had to be a WS player.
But, If I came in here and gave a review of how I dominated with a particular card pitching a no-hitter with 21 strikeouts, and I didn't mention that it was against either the CPU on Rookie Level or an RS game where my opponent had a losing record 3 times over, barely hitting a buck fifty, then how much credibility would my review deserve? The answer is ZERO, because there is absolutely no competition in either scenario.
That's what the poster was doing is all I'm sayin'. It's misleading.
Yeah but I feel like that statement stands for every single pitcher and anyone who posts a review. Hundreds if not thousands of players can say I rock “pitcher X” every time and it be true, at some point there is no need to point out or ask what rank people posting reviews are in. They won’t ever come from the high ranks where people have +5 eras and it’s nearly impossible to be effective. Let them post there reviews for each other, it’s not hurting you, you knew BEFORE you entered this was in pennant race.

I don't understand what you're trying to get at. What is it you're trying to defend?
And you're wrong, I didn't KNOW he was in pennant race until he confirmed it. I was guessing what level of competition he was playing against based on his review and I happen to guess right. Just read all the responses from the other gamers. I wasn't the only one curious if it was against CPU or RS, and yet, you want to single me out.
People can post whatever they want when they want. So did I do something wrong? Or are you the one hurt that I happen to call him out on it, and wish I didn't say anything at all?

Faced him in the event yesterday, my opponent had a WS banner. I lit him up. Well by my standards, if i get 3 or 4 hits and a couple runs, that is me lighting it up. It has no doubt made me rethink my pick. If it was a PR or WC player i would chalk it up to user error, but a WS guy? IDK.
