It's McGwire.
Big Mac. The Chase for HR in a season.
Meh.
McGwire is too one dimensional for this kind of collection reward. Outside of power, what else does he have to offer? Ruth would have more, or at the very least equal power, but Ruth would have max contact, vision, etc. And his speed, defense, etc. would be better than Mac’s too.
Big Mac would have been a perfect home run derby kind of collection reward because it was solely about power. He won the ‘92 derby and that collection would’ve been more suited to be his release.
You might feel different if the collection also includes Sosa and Maris.....I'll be pretty excited if that the case. With the ESPN Documentary "Long Gone Summer" about this chase 2 months ago, it makes sense. Also, pairing Mantle with Maris, and their historic chase of the Babe back in 1961. What if.....it was ALL of them? Including the Babe??? Hmmm.....
P.S. If the Babe were to be in it too, perhaps it would be an award card from his 1927 Season, so that they could still release his Sig Later.....so you'd be "chasing" Babe at 60, Maris at 61, Sosa at 66 and McGwire at 70. Heck, if they did this, they could do a Collect ALL to get Reggie Stocker! LOL!!!!!

All I know is if this collection reward doesn't interest me, I'll have over 700k in stubs to play with. I guess its a win/win
I definitely have around that invested lol, that’ll be interesting
-
If it’s a tiered collection, please make McGwire the easy on to get.
-
The BIG needle. The collection is gonna be a whole slew of steroid tiers with Bonds being the final reward.

New clue on Twitter this morning:
https://twitter.com/mlbtheshow/status/1287372098491551745?s=21“ The BIG Legends and Flashbacks Collection Reward arrives Tuesday, 7/28.
Last year it was Honus Wagner.
Who will it be this year?”Between “The Chase for....” and “The BIG Legends....”, there can only be two realistic possibilities, right?
Babe Ruth: The chase for = HR record, BIG = The Big Fella
Randy Johnson: The chase for = Chase Field, BIG = The Big Unit
Maybe with an outside chance at the Big Hurt, Frank Thomas? Can’t see how the chase clue applies however.
Frank Thomas is not worth locking in hundreds of thousands of stubs

Sosa, mcgwire and bonds yes sir. The roger maris hr chase
-
Big Mac chase for 61 sounds right..but I doubt it an I would definitely be saving my stubs...it has to be babe Ruth...only way they can justify the amount of stubs it will cost or it's someone new it's one of those 3 but my money is on babe

Its Randy Johnson. BIG unit. CHASE field.
If it is a pitcher they said hey listened to the community and made it easier so it would have to be fairly easy to be worth it

I thought Babe Ruth or Ted Williams, but they’re not really that exciting to me personally, given they’re just bad fielding slugging OF with poor speed. I’m thinking new legend, but whoever it is, I doubt I’ll get them this year.
-
It could be Mays, he was a Giant after all. I can’t think of any other card that it’s worth locking in so many cards for.

I have to agree with others who have said I don't think they'll put Mays behind another massive wall again in back to back years considering he was ls collections reward last year....but nobody knows for sure and we're all just guessing at this point

Bartolo colon was pretty big.

I hope you're right, but given the clue, if I were a betting man, I'd say it's McGwire. Maybe it's Ruth, who knows. I first thought Roger Marris until they used the corny BIG hint.
-
I’m thinking it’s Hank Aaron. He hit his 755th home run 44 years ago and he wore number 44. I may be putting too much thought into that but I could see it.

Mark McGwire is nicknamed Big Mac not to mention those forearms were BIG.
I feel like if it's McGwire the collection is not worth it. There need to be multiple players - Babe, Maris, Sosa, McGwire, Bonds.
This. I expect a tier with multiple players with the end game card being either Bonds aka Reggie Stocker or Aaron.

My guess is a multi-tiered reward system. It will be Maguire/Sosa as the first tier, Roger Marris as the second tier, and Babe Ruth as the ultimate card for the whole collection. Thats the only thing that really makes any sense.
There is no way it can be a pitcher since you can’t use him every game. For the price of this collection, it has to be an everyday player that once you put him in your lineup, he’s never coming out, ie, he IS the end game card.
-
I’d be all in on Reggie Stocker

The big hint, along with their love for fake future stars points to Big Al.

Chase Field wasn't called Chase Field when Randy Johnson was there. Changed names year after he left

Can people stop bringing up randy Johnson they said right in the stream it was somebody you’d want in your lineup
