Honus Collection

So over the last few weeks or so I’ve spent about 350k on some of the players I didn’t have for certain collections (really regret not going in and buying them when the market was basically dead). Who do you guys think will be the collections reward? And for those who played last year what was the market reaction when the collections reward was revealed? Did all cards go up? (Aside from live series)

Yes, everything inflated....if I remember correctly, Sig Series, AS and PS were the most scarce at release and Rookie, IV and BO were all pretty easy to complete. I think one of our community members threw out a 1.5 million cost to collect on day one of Honus release and he had the Live Series collection completed previous.
I don't know who it is, I threw out DiMaggio, but that's just a WAG. -

I’m trying to get as many of the cheaper ones as I can to then sell them once they release it if I don’t need them. I know some golds are ridiculously high right now

Yeah, I've spent quite a bit in the last few weeks trying to get as many reasonably priced cards as I can... Do we think prospect cards will be in there? IF so, that will be tough as I don't have many at all.. I'm still trying to complete some old player cards like Posada, and Kaline that i didn't bother doing at the time.. probably need to do the Willie Mays conquest... since these are free cards that just take time..

I'm also wondering about prospects and future stars. I've been told that collections with player rewards may not be included, but I'm not sure. The future stars collection only got you stubs and XP, and there are a dozen or so available on the market as well.

I would think Future Stars and Prospects would be in play, I think the prospects would also include the gold prospects from TA as well though and not all the others from Sets 1-3 would be needed (probably some).
I don't feel like HRD or Player's League will be included. -
I've read people think it could be released in stages. I personally think we are getting a new 99 legend. As well I think they are going to have it be a choice between 3 players. They seem to be going heavy on the choice packs this year.

Would guess these will be similar to programs in that collections will advance you points wise. Guessing the the collections that will give the most points will be Complete Live series collection (with MLB, AL and NL like last year), Completed FOTF (each of the 3 levels so far - 60 total), Stadium Collection, then the other stuff like Players Tournament, HRD (I do think these will be included, but not required to complete the collection), Prospects, All Stars, Veteran, Breakout, Post season, Prime and Awards. Prime and Awards will be interesting, as there are not a huge amount of those yet, but there are many many more to come. Guessing that will be the biggest obstacle to finishing. Hopefully, there will be a few levels of cards you get along the way, instead of just one like Honus last year.....

I could see the stage 3 TA players being a big part of it because you can actually buy them instead of earning them.

My guess is that it is Jeter.

I personally do not care to have a Jeter card but Hank Aaron would be a reason to want to do the collection.

I don't feel like HRD or Player's League will be included.I would think that too, but they’ve been giving out PL and HRD cards like candy and it has to be for a reason. Those PL cards haven’t been competitive for a couple months but they are still inserting them as program rewards and in conquest. No one is really clamoring for more Dwight Smith Jr cards so I have to believe they are purposely flooding the market to ensure a good supply.
FWIW my guess is DiMaggio, but who knows.

Eh I’m a huge Yankee fan but I feel like that card would probably be underwhelming. Idk how they would justify giving Jeter above 70 power

DiMaggio used to be in the game to me he is not as great of a player to get a collection like this now him being in the game would be a big deal so it would be a big collection. I would think this collection could be the babe or foxx. For not new players and Aaron for new players

I noticed playing at shibe that it references the streak at 56. Chasing the streak would make sense.
