I'm an average pitcher, but for the life of me can't pitch with Wood, ERA is north of 7. Every pitch I'm holding my breath. My question to anyone that has success with him, what's a good approach?

I kill em with offspeed, when their timing starts to catch on I start spamming heat. But I'm not a very good player either.

Never aim for the strike zone, i'd rather walk someone on a 3-1 count than serve them a meatball down the middle

I've found qoth his poor control its best to be aggressive in the zone. Once you have someone 0-2 you have 1 shot at getting a swing and miss then i would start pitching in thr zone or you'll end up walking the guy. With Wood I use the rocking chair method, fast-slow'-fast-slow. The differential between his fastball and curve throws people off.

What level are you playing at? I have had a lot of success with his card there. His control gets wild at times but he hs been consistent. All I recommend is mixing in his pitches. I sometimes am too aggressive with the analog but I found when I am gentle I received better inputs on analog pitching

Mostly around 600, I can sometimes sneak into division series when I'm clicking.

You'd rather give them a free pass than make them earn it? Obviously much more applicable in real life but I hate walking people.

I will always try to get the hitter to chase bad pitches. If it is 2 outs and nobody on and i fall behind 3-1, i would rather walk the hitter rather than serve one up down the middle. Doesn't always work though, especially if your opponent has a good eye and is patient at the plate
