I absolutely love collecting cards in RL.

The key thing to know that in general, rookie cards, (And 1st Bowman for prospects), are typically the most sought after. Know what rookies in each product. For example, 2020 Topps Series 1 has so many great rookies like Yordan and Bo Bichette.
2020 Topps Series 2 is lighter on rookies this year, with the only noteworthy one is Luis Robert

Thanks for the info man. The 2020 series was actually the one i opened. I though about doing series 2 for my next vid. But based on your advice stick with series 1?

Series 2 isn't bad, the Luis Robert is a popular card, especially with it just being released. But if I had the choice between the two, I'd personally go Series 1.

Yeah didn't seem so bad. Think I only got like 2 duplicates. Best card was a Keston Hiura Autograph.

That's a great pull, finding autographs in retail boxes is pretty rare, and Hiura is a popular name, a lot of people collect him.

Watched the video, I like the edit of going to the MLB card after you show the real life one, it was pretty cool. If I could give a bit of advice, try to work your camera settings where it isn't vertical cam so you don't have the black spaces.

Collect what you like, don’t get caught up in what other people collect and just go after stuff you like for yourself. That’s the advice I give to every new person that comes back into the hobby

Guess I should definitely hold it to it then. Also really appreciate the advice. I'll make sure i work on that for the next video. Appreciate you taking the time to watch the video man.

This is kind of off topic but remember the game Ken Griffey Jr Major League Baseball for Super Nintendo? You could rename each player to their real name. I used my cards to do this and it took hella lotta time to do but was worth it to me. Loved that game

Back in the MVP Baseball and early The Show days I would go through and edit every player and create players as the season went on. Back before roster updates or roster vaults. Would take days to do but I was OCD af about it. Thank goodness for OSFM now.

I still get a box set a year for Christmas or my birthday. It's great opening cards, I get excited pulling Trout just as much IRL lol.

Haha no. I haven’t had a chance to look at your vid yet. I just kind of skimmed over to see what your starting lineup was and then I ordered Chinese food.

Loved that game! Re-doing the Braves roster was so much fun, especially when you can get deep into the bench and bullpen guys.

I love collecting cards. There was only some basketball boxes at Walmart last week so I bought one and hit a Zion rookie that sells for around $550... definitely can be profitable

That’s awesome you’re getting back into the hobby! I got back to collecting in 2018, Acuna quickly became my favorite player in the league and his cards drew me back in.

Definitely collect what you like but I would definitely say stick to Topps products. Some Panini products can be cool but something about them not havOmg team logos just throws me off. I typically stick with Topps flagship products (Series 1 and 2), Topps Chrome, Topps Update, Topps Update Chrome. I’ll always get 2 hobby boxes or a jumbo of each of those products along with some retail boxes to fill in those complete sets.

I’ve also dabbled into some other products like Topps Heritage but that’s another huge set of cards that will take too much time and money for me. I may try Gypsy Queen at some point cuz I just think the design of those look cool.

Long story short, there’s definitely a lot of stuff out there. I’d recommend the main products from Topps but definitely go for what you enjoy and think looks cool.

Heritage is really cool. I like how they recreate old topps card designs with the modern players. I’ll buy one off cards of rookies in that set but they’re mostly in the high number set that releases later in the year.

I’ll organically build the sets of flagship and chrome and will chase one off rookies, autos, and numbered cards.

My favorite baseball card in my collection is a gold Acuna rookie auto numbered to 50 I bought off of eBay his rookie year. My favorite/best pull from a pack was a gold Vlad Jr. chrome rookie auto numbered to 50. I was shocked to see that in a pack.
