Historical Accuracy vs Viability

These ol’ timers’ windups...amiright? I can’t be the only person who walks the leadoff batter in moments (that allow walks, of course) just to avoid those trash windups. They could release a Christy Mathewson that was the Pepe Alazar of pitchers, and I still wouldn’t use him.
Certainly this isn’t a gripe at SDS - they gave the guys their real-life ridiculous windups (if they really wanted to be accurate, the would also show those guys rippin heaters in the dugout between innings, but I digress). So it begs the question:
Would you trade the accuracy of their windups for a generic windup if it made these guys more viable pitching options?

I dont see the issue with it as much as others. There are live series players that have equally as long, if not longer windups, but dont have the over the head motion. They just turn sideways, and keep their glove at chest or stomach height, but they do it very slowly. Then you have more extreme live series players like Daniel Mendgen.

I don't mind the long windups unless it's in a mindless moment that I want to do quickly. The pitch mix on guys like matthewson, young, and Johnson are tough to work with though

The only prob I have is that I’ve never seen film of Walter Johnson doing TWO arm rotations before beginning his windup. I know there isn’t a ton of footage from this era, but all I’ve ever seen is him doing a single arm rotation.
But changing their windups simply for the pace of play would be blasphemy

Grove's isn't bad.its a bit slow but has a good rythym to it.
