Does anyone use small ball (hit and run, stealing, bunting) consistently as part of their approach? As someone who struggles hitting on hall of fame, I am considering shifting the focus of my team towards speed/strategy. I am a little hesitant tho as I don’t find sac bunting too useful in this game, and stealing is a bit questionable as well. Any thoughts from anyone who bunts or steals often? I know some people try and drag bunt but I wanna know more sac bunting/hit and run

I do. I have Pierre and Brujan 1 & 2, and then either Larkin or Rollins at SS SS hitting 9th. I also have power guys, but I like having guys with decent speed. Walker, Bellinger, McCutchen all have decent speed and power in my lineup as well. But I love drag bunting and stealing with the guys at 9, 1, and 2....

Playing small ball in this game is often considered cheesy. If you know how to combat drag bunts and stealing attempts, you'll get nothing going that way and you'll probably end up quitting before the 6th inning.

I've been thinking about switching more to this strategy also. I'm not a very good hitter and I struggle to hit home runs. Seems like most lineups people use are stacked with power guys and it makes sense, if you're someone that can get good contact that results in home runs. I've got power guys, Mickey, Sheff, Trout, Thome and Giambi before him, Posey, Chipper, etc....The best hitters on my team are pretty much Ozzie Smith and Tony Gwynn. Both hitting above .300 where everyone else seams to hover around .230 with not a ton of home runs, at least compared to what others have with these power bats. I just can't bring myself to take some of those guys out of my lineup since I know they're the best hitters in the game, but I continue to struggle with them. I don't think that the "small ball" strategy is cheesy either like some would say. I get it, it's frustrating loosing to somebody who plays that way but it's part of the game. Up until not even that long ago that's more of how the game of baseball was played. Nowadays it's either a walk, strikeout, or home run. I say go small ball if you want and I might be joining you here soon enough! After all, if the Zebra does it I feel like I have no choice but to follow!
