2 preset lineups vs LHP\RHP

Starting pitchers can be brought in as relievers at any time now at preserved stamina, so it shouldn't be an issue seeing potential opposing lineups of all same handed hitting (with the opponent's dilemma of burning through their bench early on). I have an all switch hitting squad so I'm not really affected by the forced use of a single main lineup, but it would still be nice to start certain players higher or lower in the order depending on pitcher handedness.
I don't see the problem with having 2 default lineups that lock in pre-game (utilizing only the 13 position player pool in a 25 man roster). No backing out after the loading screen revealing both teams comes up
-
Yeah I've been calling for this for a grip. I mean I could be wrong, because I don't know a thing about it, but it doesn't seem like a hard thing to implement.
-
As long as you use the same 25 man roster for both lineups, I don’t have an issue with it.
There’s a fair amount of people who post about wanting to have a completely different lineup for both handedness and that would just be lame imo.
-
Or you can learn to hit same handedness and this will never be an issue again.

I agree with this as well. And this would actually be a reasonable use of starters in the pen too. If someone wants to cheese an all lefty lineup at me you can get newhouser, leiter, or lodolo in the second inning

Exactly. The only ones advocating for this are people that struggle to hit same handedness. Practice and get better. Stop looking for a easy way out

Exactly. Everyone struggled at some point, especially lefty/lefty. Instead of asking for the game to change go practice like the rest of us.

This isn’t why I’m in support of it. I like the idea because it would give more incentive to use more players and mix up the batting order. And if MLB managers are able to set lineups according to who’s starting, I wouldn’t be against it if we are able to as well.
But like I said... ONLY if you have ONE 25 man roster for both lineups. Having only one roster, people still aren’t going to have a complete lefty or righty lineup.

Lol not the case at all. It's called strategy bruh. You don't think managers start certain guys depending on if a lefty or righty is on the mound?

Of course they do. But they won’t put 9 straight righties or lefties like 90% of this community would do

Well yeah that would be OP. Let's say I start Reggie Jackson in right field and have Jay Buhner on my bench, there shouldn't be a problem with having a different lineup you can set that allows Buhner to start if the other dude is throwing a lefty. You still have to stick with the same 13 position players you'd have anyways.

That’s not going to happen if you use one roster for both. And if you do, then you will be screwed if they bring in a different handed starter the 2nd inning.

Again, just learn how to hit same handedness. Problem solved.

Trust me that's not a problem. Just like adding more strategy based aspects, and it's nothing that doesn't happen in real baseball every single game.

You know what's real strategy? Constructing a balanced line up because you don't know who you're going to face. Making a platoon line up is not strategy, that's self explanatory and everybody and their momma can think of doing that.
I'm comfortable with my line up against anyone, lefty or righty I really don't care.

I'm not saying use all lefties vs right handers and all righties vs left handers. It's simple baseball you noob. In Franchise modes there are lineups you can set vs each hand, but you still have to use the same 25 man roster. Just like in real life. I want this game to be as real as possible, and that's how professional managers do it. No need to get butthurt that you don't know the game.
-
I can just see it happening. Multiple people putting 5 lefties in the lineup with 3 switch hitters and then 5 righties on the bench and vice versa. How is that fun? There’s zero strategy in that.
The only thing I could see where this would be great is where a batter has terrible splits. Like that 85 Braun for example

I can hit same handed, but there's no point in putting myself at a disadvantage against elite pitching just for the sake of it

I see what you're saying 100%, but that would also leave that person with a huge disadvantage having 5 people of the same handedness off the bench. Good players would expose that in the later innings every single time.

Simple, bring in a different handed starting pitcher(s) in relief and see how quickly opponents will burn through their bench. That's their problem if they struggle to hit same handed and with 0 players left on the bench
