I remember last month someone paid 425k for King Felix the day after the program was released. Strange times. Had to have been a streamer.
This is mostly what I’m talking about lol it’s crazy how the market works sometimes
Wow you really do like to "lol" don't ya.

I always buy (if) a week or so before next inning when they are cheapest. but then I grew up before cell phones and computers.
Maybe that’s it, maybe it’s an age gap thing..I’m in my 30’s and grew up away from all that stuff too so maybe we just aren’t as slavish to instant gratification..it’s a theory anyway

It’s the same reason why we spend 5 bucks on coffee at Starbucks when we can make it at home, or why we hit up a prostitute when our wives are working late, or why we are happy to just defecate in our pants when the bathroom is 10 feet away: Instant gratification is awesome.
Lmfaooooo....it's only 5am an I read this way late after originally posted but you sir got my laugh of the day

I would never pay $5 for coffee, I do love hookers and blow though.

If you don’t understand the “demand” portion, be thankful that you don’t have any understanding of that sort of obsessive, impulsive, compulsive behavior...
Realistically it’s what these modes feed off. Taking advantage of that small percentage that can’t control themselves. Usually you think of the corporation doing it, but here it’s other users profiting off it. -
You gotta think alot of people who play this game have never taken an economics/finance class or experienced supply and demand first hand either. A lot of kids play video games

I feel u. I have patience so i wouldnt buy an expensive card. I sold Walker for 179k. Im about to get him and Mo combined for way less than that in a week or two. Make stubs that way

what about when your wife is the prostitute?

I think that there are also a lot of players that have more stubs than they know what to do with or they’re not collectors so they don’t have a lot of players locked down.

Okay, I'll be the nerd to take us there... The concept of supply and demand is actually the answer to the OP. Demand exists on a downward sloping curve, less quantity is demanded the higher the price, but it isn't 0 demand. There are some people (although fewer) who are willing to pay a high price, based on whatever their circumstances are. This market is a pretty decent example of free market economics, if I were a high school economics teacher, I'd probably try to find a way to use it.
-
YOLO OP. If you got the coins and you like a player you splurge. Just a video game
-
I'm surprised Ortiz and Walker aren't tanking in price more. Rivera will likely stay around 100k but I thought with the flood of TA 3 players to the market yesterday that the other two would drop down to the 70k range. Trying to hold off buying them but it's getting tough.

I graduated with an Accounting degree so I know how it works. I was just more saying why these kind of things happen

Yeah, I wasn't questioning you as much as using your reply as a time to chime in!
