Let’s talk about supply and demand for a minute lol

I know this has probably been covered buts what’s blowing my mind right now...let’s start with the inning programs..what they sell for the first week is insane to me, I get that there is low supply and high demand early on which is why they are so expensive early on. My question is why the demand. It’s a known thing that 2-3 weeks from now they will be going for a third of what they were on the market for Saturday. Everyone knows this..so why would you spend 150k now when you can spend 120k in 3 weeks and have two of them. It makes No sense to me lol not mad, don’t get me wrong if you grind enough or just swipe your card and have the stubs then you do you. It’s still just seems like absolutely asinine behavior to me lol like the TA4 cards selling for 20-60k right now, they will be going for less than half in two weeks once everyone has them 🤯🤯
-
I don’t buy many players. Especially expensive players. So I don’t really mind overpaying a bit since I will be able to save up a lot stubs before I buy again. I’m also not going for Mantle.
So like Larry Walker.. hell yeah I’ll overpay to use ASAP. Especially since I know 100% he will be my RF for the rest of the year.

It’s the same reason why we spend 5 bucks on coffee at Starbucks when we can make it at home, or why we hit up a prostitute when our wives are working late, or why we are happy to just defecate in our pants when the bathroom is 10 feet away: Instant gratification is awesome.

Whoa pal! I always make my own coffee. Everything else checks out

I mean I get the instant gratification and I also think walker will be my rf for the rest of the year but because I earned him this weekend and sold him I will be able to buy him and Rivera(who will be in my bullpen from here on out I’m sure)in a few weeks. I mean I get the idea of just having him now because it’s gonna be two weeks before I can okay with him and that’s gonna suck but I just can’t make myself spend it knowing it will be so much cheaper lol

Basically to answer the question, some people would rather overpay than wait 2 weeks. It’s worth it to me. Plus I like having a dominant card while it’s a dominant card you know? Who knows in 2 weeks we’ll have more dominant pitchers (as seen with TA3) which nerf Walker in a way. Plus other dominant cards that compete with Walker.

Like I said earlier tho to each their own I’m certainly not knocking anyone for how they choose to enjoy the game, it’s just a hard concept for me to grasp lol

The difference in how people operate is the only way the machine keeps rolling. Lol dont need to understand why just when to sell.

I remember last month someone paid 425k for King Felix the day after the program was released. Strange times. Had to have been a streamer.

I always buy (if) a week or so before next inning when they are cheapest. but then I grew up before cell phones and computers.

Maybe that’s it, maybe it’s an age gap thing..I’m in my 30’s and grew up away from all that stuff too so maybe we just aren’t as slavish to instant gratification..it’s a theory anyway
