The Script Isn’t Going Anywhere

This guy was terrible. Just nothing but cheap breaking balls in the dirt all game with Cy Young. It was downright boring. Almost every ball I cranked went absolutely nowhere except the imaginary wall just before the warning track. And what does the game do? Reward his cheap [censored] with a 3 run comeback win in the bottom of the ninth with a walkoff off goose with LS Alonso on a ball 2 feet inside. Haven’t played ranked seasons in a month. Maybe I’ll give it two months this time.

Was there anything you could have done differently?

I don’t think so. Maybe. I did pull a triple play on him too. Bases loaded and he bunts, threw home for the force, saw his runner over run 2nd so fired to second for the tag, then home again for a rundown for the third out of the triple play. And I lost. I think the answers no.

I find that when I lose to a player I think is clearly worse than I am, it’s more helpful to focus on the bad ABs I had or bad baserunning decisions and learn from them instead of the “script”.
