Conquest Map is killing me!!

I am starting to think it might be quicker to play out all the hexagons. I usually only play the strongholds and sim the rest. But for some reason I cannot make progress on this map. I am on turn 20 and have only defeated the first 2 strong holds. Got 2 hexagons away from KC and they completely have wiped me out and pushed me back. Losing 15-2 battles. Did they just up the difficulty on this one or am I just extremely unlucky? Playing the games out on All Star or HoF are just as easy as ever though.

hint hint hint. Conquer all the hexagons before you conquer the strongholds. If you conquer 1x1 it will take you 3x the time to complete it. Easier to conquer all the empty spaces before they are conquered and have to sim the conquer battle.

Yeah I just never had a problem with this before. But oh well. I will take you guys' advice.

Conquest has always been the most tolerable mode on this buggy mess of a game

It’s also easier if you steal fans. I usually steal 4m fans on HOF difficulty on each of my first 3 turns. Then you have double digit fans to simulate wins on the hexagons. You gain more ground that way and you can sim everything except strongholds for the rest of the map.

Stealing fans kinda “stuns” the other team and they don’t move as aggressively for a couple rounds.

Ah, yeah that part I thought was weird too. If my Dr gave those they wouldnt ever be on sale.

Yep, take strongholds last and steal fans for a few rounds early on! Until you take strongholds, the real estate or “fans” are much more important! Even when you have all the hexes,, you can steal fans and whittle down the stronghold!

Thanks guys. Guess it was just bad luck as everyone else seems to be having a breeze. Maybe it will get better. Just thought it was odd this one time.
