I still don't get why we can't challenge in DD games
-
You could for a very short period of time last year but then the option to just... disappeared. Why? It seemed like a good, albeit simple feature that could benefit from expanding and improving rather than just deleting from the most common part of the game.
I mean I guess I could be unlucky, but It just seems crazy that I'ts been well over a year across TWO games without a single reviewable situation in DD -
Probably because people would only challenge friends that were willing to tank games to get to WS quickly. That's why it's now only Friendly games that don't count towards Ranked Seasons. That would be my best guess.

I think he’s talking about challenging in-game plays, not challenging other people to games.

@DriveByTrucker17 you're right I miss read it. Thanks for the catch
With that in mind I'd say the most logical explanation would be pace of play. As it is excluding a rage quit games last roughly 30-45 minutes if you add in the ability to challenge even if it's like in MLB it still extends the play time. However I see your point I've had some plays I'd like to have over turned but my best guess would be for pace of play idk though

Ik is this is an old thread. But this would mean that without fail the umpires now with be screwing us on call after call. I think it’s should only be in certain modes like franchise and stuff.

I sent a video to sds where I had a ball land a foot foul and it cost me the game

Man I’ve seen so many check swings that swing way forward get called checks [censored] pisses me off

It’s just the swing animation that is chosen to be shown is different to the actual result that occurred, not ideal but hopefully it will be fixed finally this year. Been around since 17 at least.

I mean I guess I could be unlucky, but It just seems crazy that I'ts been well over a year across TWO games without a single reviewable situation in DDI think they removed the feature because they eliminated the 50/50 play - the correct outcome is always enforced. Just like how the umpires no longer call strikes balls and vice versa, they became perfect (which in my opinion is a great change).
If for some reason it does seem like a play is going against you, it's most likely due to latency. I had some 50/50 situations that were debatable - both in my favor and against me - and most of the times it happened, the game was a bit laggy. So in your screen the ball might be in fair territory but according to the servers it's foul or vice versa.
Either way without debating actual plays, that is probably why they deleted the option to challenge plays - because the outcome is always correct. There is no need to challenge an outcome that is always correctly enforced.
