@chuckcold
Do NOT spend any stubs, Do NOT collect (lock in) any players.
Build your team around high diamonds & 'No Sell' cards that can't be bought or sold on market.
Grind Blake Snell Player Program & create sell orders for the 3 diamond players you receive to get a good base (~50K) of stubs. (again DO NOT collect any players, you don't actually need Snell, just the stubs.)
Grind Jackie Robinson Player Program for ~30 packs, more stubs, plus "No Sell" 94 All Star Legend Jackie Robinson card for your squad.Choose 93 CP Dennis Eckersley or 90 OF Carlos Gonzalez from Evolution Player Pack & grind that out for it to become a 'No Sell' diamond located in XP Reward Path
Choose 85 SS Adalberto Mondesi, then 86 RP Charlie Morton from Classic Choice pack in XP Reward Path (no sell)
Conquest to grind missions, Jackie Robinson, & for stubs, xp & packs
Create sell orders, don't quick sell.. any diamond you pull from any pack.
Showdowns give you vouchers for Team Affinity grind.. find a couple high diamond players from Stage 2 so you don't have to go to the Market & splurge on players.. I would go for Reds 95 overall SP Nick Lodolo & Cardinals 95 overall 3B Nolan Gorman for example (all 'No Sell')
Grind Monthly Awards program for 3 more high diamonds for your squad..
97 overall Cody Bellinger, 95 overall Carlos Correa & 93 overall Didi Gregorius ('No Sell')Featured Programs (Inning Bosses) I would start from the most current (4th inning) down.. which would get u 96 overall Felix Hernandez & more than 100K in stubs if u sell the other 3 bosses. (again never collect so you could always sell)
Go straight for Mike Trout with all the stubs you earn ( for live series collections) a lot of people make the mistake of buying every card besides the top 5 or so most expensive but it's way quicker to buy from the top down.. (most important)
Choose 87 CP Mariano Rivera from Legend Choice Pack in XP Reward Path
98 SP Hal Newhouser, 99 SP Corey Kluber, 96 CP Rollie Fingers from XP Reward Path (no sell)
99 OF Reggie Jackson, 99 2B/3B Ryne Sandberg from XP Reward Path (no sell)

Thanks for the tips. I've been going about this the wrong way

Can you elaborate on why this is the right way? This was my first year playing enough to worry about the collections and not knowing any better, I went about it the opposite way.

I think it's just because if you have the top 5, any time you save up 20k, you can complete a team. Less stressful than trying to save up 320k for trout and 200k for the others

cosmic_wonders nailed it!
Thanks for that info. The no sell players is so key, because then you can have all of your stubs working for you at all time.
One trick that I use is to sell all golds are higher at the end of any game sesion. Then before I play I hop on, place a few buy orders and get playing. You can play showdowns while you are waiting for buy orders to come in. I now have about $225K in stubs to play with in two weeks. I have had a few lucky pulls (Yelich, and Flaherty) which net me about $40K. So at this point my team is typically low to mid 90 diamond players and I make probably 5-15K everytime I buy and sell a team.
So this makes the benefit of those no sell players even higher IMO. Now I have BO CarGo, so I no longer need to spend on a CF. Once I get to where i have 6-8 no sell players and a good stub base, i will start to go after collections. I just want to make sure I have enough stubs to buy whatever players I want (within reason) when I want to play RS, and the rest is expendable.
@cosmic_wonders - I am also wondering on why you would go after Trout first. My thought was to go after the division that I would like the players from the most, and work around like that.

I went after Trout first because I wanted to knock out the AL west and get Billy Wagner, Sean Doolittle, Verlander, and Trout. 4 players in 1 division make my squad. Now I only have to spend 200k stubs to complete the AL

My pack luck = 400 packs with nothing. Don't give SDS your money or your stubs!!!
-
Which division is the best to knock out first?
-
@sbevans142 @ddbake @CheddaAllDay
Reason you want to go for Trout first is because he is the gatekeeper for the live series collections, the most expensive & the best player. Don't worry about any division collections.. go Trout first, Gerrit Cole, Scherzer, DeGrom, Verlander, Arenado ( whichever most expensive first ) it's all about saving time & stubs (again dont worry about division collections until top 5 are cleared)
-
If you go about the LS collections from the bottom up & still need top 6 or so players & you've got no stubs left then it's going to be a very long grind

@cosmic_wonders is Felix Hernandez unsellable? And how do you get the other 3 bosses that you can sell for 100K?

Thanks for both posts. Great info! The market doesn't seem to have as high a profit margin this year but I just started messing with it.

@CheddaAllDay all the Inning bosses are sellable.. King Felix is just the one boss I would use for a Ranked Seasons World Series run since he's a high diamond SP with great pitch mix, then I would sell, not
collect, when better options become available.Go to Featured Programs.. you have to collect 300 program stars to choose 1 of 3 bosses..
Each Inning Program has it's own Showdown for +70 (non repeatable)
its own Conquest map for +30 (non repeatable)
it's own Missions +65 (non repeatable)
Moments for a + certain amount
& Collections for 'No Sell' cards via moments for +40If you grind this out & sell 93 Roy Oswalt, 93 Joe Carter & 94 Shane Victorino or whoever is going for the most at the time.. should be ~100K stubs
