I know this community sometimes gets a bad rap, with all the hate messages being posted. And I know people are split on helping others with the prestige grind (boosting). But right now my messages are filled with nice messages and pleasant exchanges.

I go into event games with every intention of playing it out. I don’t send messages for help but if someone messages me I usually help because we’re working towards the same thing.

I’ve had games where I’m being waxed and with no communication at all my opponent will start grooving me pitches to Didi and Belli later in the game. So I’ve started to return that favor if I’m winning by a lot. All the messages I’ve received after have been super grateful or offering to help more.

I know there’s bad apples too but they’re way fewer in between at least for me. So I guess this is my thank you to everyone who I’ve played that I may not have been able to exchange messages with.

Here is my thing though: I grinded the last switch hitting event like crazy, because I wanted to prestige both Mantle and Chipper. I never asked anyone to throw me a pitch down the middle, I'm confident enough in my own ability to earn it the legitimate way.

Now, almost every game I started I got offered a friendly quit at the start, which sometimes I accepted and sometimes I didn't. On almost half the games I played, I received a message from my opponent asking for some sort of boosting, which I declined each and every time. I don't need free wins or free stats, I'll earn them.

Now here's my question to you: does this make me a bad apple in your opinion? Not trying to imply that you do, I'm genuinely curious. Because there is no "code" where people are meant to help each other boost stuff. I just wanna play the game. Some people I played got salty for declining to participate in this stuff and started plunking Mantle and Chipper, pause the game, step off the mound, all the good stuff. And for what? Because I just wanna play the game. So surely in their minds, I'm the bad apple for not willing to help. That's the world upside down in my opinion.

No not at all. Like I said I go into games with full intent on just playing and don’t send messages myself, only respond. There’s nothing wrong with just wanting to play the game. When I said bad apples I meant the stories you hear about people tricking others into wins or the angry screenshotted messages you see on here. I in no way meant if you don’t do what I do you’re a bad apple. I get there’s some people who just want to play the event and it probably gets annoying getting messages every game or seeing the “Belli hr and I quit” team names.

I enjoy sending a GG message or commenting on something after our game has ended even made a couple show friends who I talk to regularly. Had to turn off my messages this year because every freaking game someone is looking to make a deal. To all of you who think its ok to message for free hits, K's whatever it may be that day you have taken a little bit of the joy and fun away from a lot of us. I doubt I'm the only one that enjoyed a GG message or telling someone who was really good that they were really good. The prestige program was meant to reward you for being dedicated and kicking [censored] with certain players not turn the online show community into a bunch of people on street corners begging for stats

I turned off my messaging last year after being attacked by all the viewer from a streamer who I was playing (I received at least 50 messages from 15-20 of his viewers). I kept stepping off because he was taken an extra step when leading, it was a good decision since I don't have to bother with all the players messaging you at the start of a game.

However, since I don't really care about my event record and since I can score alot, I will give up a HR to didi and bellinger when I'm home to try and help my opponent prestige them. If he returns the favor, I will give them another HR their next AB. If he doesn't i'll just play the game and won't complain.

I agree and play the same way. I’m annoyed by messages and I understand that it’s just someone asking for help. I just don’t want to be bothered to participate in stat boosting.

I played Fuzzy in his shortest players BR draft last year. I got no hit...I think my messages were off though

Messages off is the only way to play this game. I’ve never asked for a handout but I’ll surely take it if you give it to me. And maybe I’ll secretly throw a meatball here or there if I’m winning big. It’s an event game anyways and a 3 inning one at that. If I lose I play again, no harm no foul . It’s just a freaking video game!

I have been doing the same thing. In the top of the first I will groove a couple to the guys that need prestiged. If they return the favor then we can have some fun with those guys. If not then we just play normal. It is just a game.

I turned off messages on my system unless we’re friends already. Been tremendously easier. They either play normal or quit
