Ranked Season v. Friend

Re: The match-up system of MLB the show
There are some older threads on what the matchmaking obstacles are in the SHOW 20. I tried this theory out someone had on the older thread and it worked like a charm - my friend and I partied up and joined a RS game same time. Did not work the first time however, second time we paired up. I should note that he lives in Miami and I am in DC - not too close.
Since then, days upon days of trying to match up again and nothing is working. We are messing with the slider and not. We both have the same record, and his rating is only 80 higher so our matchmaking window is within the same parameters.
Has anyone been able to do this more than once with a friend? I am aware that we can play without it counting towards something, however I would rather be earning something as we attempt to win. Not looking to cheat or anything, we play for keeps.
Also, has anyone been able to change their matchmaking region somehow, either through The Show or through networking options?

I was in a similar situation last year when a friend wanted to always play me in RS. We were able to link up a few times, but we finally decided to cut it off because it just seemed like too much work and took a lot of patience. I can only tell you what we did.
Our guess was that if you're playing during the busiest times of the day where traffic is at its peak, we can pretty much forget about it.
Not sure how you guys linked up the first time, but your best bet is to try at odd hours when there isn't much people playing and where you're not getting 'Opponent Found' immediately. But even then, there's no guarantee, although it is helpful that you guys are ranked somewhat close to each other.
Also, don't know if you already have this or something like this in place where once you reach the starting pitcher selection screen, just one of you guys click 'Ready,' then unclick 'Ready,' and do this a few times so that you know you've paired up. If the screen takes you to your batting lineup, while you're doing this on the starting pitcher screen, then obviously, you just back out and make another attempt. It may take you several attempts and some patience to finally link up. One last thing....make sure when you get to the starting pitcher selection screen, that once you press 'X' to click 'Ready,' don't accidentally press 'O' twice,, because then you just backed out of the game, and have to start over again trying.
Hope that helps.

@onnagood1 The first time we tried this and were successful, it was 9PM on a Sunday. I figured it would be a pretty busy time but perhaps that will have to be the move. We have tried at times around 9AM-11AM and 9PM-11PM every day. We give up every time and run the games without them counting just out of pure frustration of waiting around and just wanting to play. Also, yes this year also allows for the same pitcher screen for flashing ready after waiting to confirm its the friend in the match.
Really interested to know if there is anyway to increased our odds by some IP, DNS, Server, etc. change.

I often run into the same opponents a few times a week. Not sure why I feel like this is true, I certainly can’t point to any conclusive evidence to support it, but I believe there’s something in place that prevents you from matching up with the same player twice in 30(?) hours. This is why you’ll never see the same opponent twice in a day.

It makes sense if something like this is implemented, both to prevent boosting and to prevent being matched up with an extremely unfair match up as well.

Yes, in the previous thread that I am quoting and bringing back to life, they talked about the 24 hour where you cannot be matched up against the same player. This is not something I have been able to find from the show 20 as accurate, however it makes sense. Still would not explain the multiple days of trying with zero success.

I am pretty sure you can only match up with an opponent once per season. I’ve never played the same opponent twice in one season. Even with trying to play against friends.
-
You can certainly match up with the same person twice in the same season.
I just played my brother in RS on 7/12 (4pm) and then again on 7/14 (10 am). We were unsuccessful in finding each other in matchmaking after we played on each day though, so I assume you can only face an opponent once a day?
