@BodamEscapePlan said in Anybody else kind of feel like you've run out of ways to improve your team?:

I realize that I've been a lot luckier than probably 99% of players out there as I've pulled Mike Trout, Nolan Arenado (x2), Jacob deGrom, Robb Nen, Francisco Lindor, and quite a few others despite basically being a no money spent (I spent $50 on the first Stub sale to finish off the Live Series collection).

So, with the Live Series done and unlocking Sheffield, Mantle, and Biggio, I've had about 300K in Stubs that I've been using to cycle through the new cards they've released like Andrew McCutchen, Zack Greinke, Matt Kemp, Ken Griffey Jr., Felix Hernandez, Jacoby Ellsbury, and Jake McGee. Out of those cards, the only ones I've decided to keep are Andrew McCutchen, Felix Hernandez, and Jacoby Ellsbury (when I hit 300 stars, I'll take Ellsbury. I'm at 250).

Now the only card I really want is the Prime Ben Zobrist as I think the only spot on my team that can use an upgrade is at shortstop, which is where I'd play Zobrist. This is what my team is looking like right now...

    Ace - Corey Kluber [99]
    SP2 - Felix Hernandez [96]
    SP3 - Nick Lodolo [95]
    SP4 - Blake Snell [95]
    SP5 - Vida Blue [93]

    LR - Charlie Morton [86]
    MID - Fernando Rodney [92]
    MID - Aroldis Chapman [85]
MID - Adam Ottavino / Amir Garrett [85]
    SU7 - Dennis Eckersley [93]
    SU8 - Billy Wagner [94]
    CL9 - Rollie Fingers [96]

    C - Buster Posey [99]
    1B - Jason Giambi [92]
    2B - Craig Biggio [99]
    3B - Gary Sheffield [99]
    SS - Chipper Jones [94]
    LF - Andrew McCutchen [97]
    CF - Mike Trout [95]
    RF - Mickey Mantle [99]

    BN1 - Reggie Jackson, OF [99]
    BN2 - Carlos Correa, SS [95]
    BN3 - Vidal Brujan, 2B/CF [95]
    BN4 - Matt Olsen, 1B/RF [89]
    BN5 - Yoan Moncada, 3B/2B [86]

You could add Dibble and Gagne to your bullpen. Other then that, that is a really solid team in my opinion.

I feel my starting 8 are pretty much end game. I definitely think there will be pitchers however that will greatly improve my team.

Once i'm done the LS Series all I really want is Kemp/Dibble/Foster.

My end game lineup for now should look something like this

    Catcher - Buster Posey - 99
    1st Base - Eric Thames- 99
    2nd Base - Craig Biggio - 99
    Short Stop - Jose Ramirez - 99
    3rd Base - Garry Sheffield - 99
    Left Field - Matt Kemp - 97
    Center Field - Mike Trout - 95
    Right Field - Mickey Mantle - 99

    Bench

    Chipper Jones - 96
    Reggie Jackson - 99
Ronald Acuna (doesn't leave my lineup) - 90
    Jason Giambi - 92
    George Foster - 97

    Starters

    Corey Kluber - 99
    Hal Newhauser - 98
    Zach Greinke - 97
    Felix Herandez - 97
    Kyle Wright - 94

    Bullpen

    Rollie Fingers - 96
    Rob Dibble - 95
    Billy Wagner - 94
    Eric Gagne - 92
    Andrew Miller - 91
    John Franco - 90
    Rich Gossage - 90

Not right now it isn't but I never said it was, it's what I want by the end of the year. Hence the "endgame" comment.

Your right about Acuna though he is a 89 my mistake.

It's ok mistakes happen and of course this list will change when we start getting players like Ruth/Gehrig/ a better Griffey.

I feel you. Pulled Cutch out of a pack and started using him today, I actually really like him. The best cards this year will be in TA's, people that haven't completed them yet will be really sorry when stage 4 drops.

I tried Gagne and just wasn't crazy about him. I'm hoping Rodney can take over as my 3rd right-handed reliever behind Rollie and Eck. I haven't even thought about getting Dibble. I was honestly wondering why he was so pricey, he has to be pretty good with everyone recommending him.

I also wouldn't mind picking up Andrew Miller, who I completely forgot about. Oh, and that new Gossage is looking awesome.

I totally agree with both of the things you said. As I mentioned earlier, I bought Matt Kemp and was being really stubborn trying to stick with him but I just like McCutchen so much better.

But I think you nailed it on the stage 4 of Team Affinity. I think we'll more than likely see the best versions of players like Cal Ripken Jr., Ted Williams, Frank Thomas, Clayton Kershaw, Mike Schmidt, etc. Even if it's not those super legends, if we have a season, stage 4 could be Finest cards too. All I know is, I've been trying to grind out every team. I've got stage 1 done on 17 or 18 of them and stage 2 I've got like 5 done.

Due to time, I took a different approach. I have 7 done through stage two, I picked the historic teams, and teams I thought would have a great final card. Hopefully I'm right, but I think all cards will be fantastic in stage 3 and 4.
