What’s with the Friendly Quits???
-
I hover in the 600's and display a ranked record about 10-15 games over 500 right now. FQ requests for at least 50% of my games.
They see a lineup and attempt to bail. As mentioned above, it's an attempt to noobie hunt for an easy win. Worse this year more than ever.
It would be great to limit the amount of FQ you could send a day to 3. I bet we'd see a lot less.
You entered ranked seasons. You have intent to play and get rating points. There should be a no return policy IMHO.

If you’re playing at an MLB Park with some kind of shadow or in the rain I am offering a friendly 100% of the time. My internet can’t handle it
-
I swear you deny that request and boom they score 3 runs lol
-
I get it all the time and my record is like 20-20. As soon as they see a decent lineup they want out, but it doesn't occur to them that I'm not great and they have a chance to win.

I’m always nervous that karma is gonna slap me around when I deny a FQ. So, if they send me a FQ, I’ll let it sit there and run down their pause timer...and they either retract their FQ request or forfeit.

That’s disgusting that you have to let someone’s timer expire so you can get a free win.

You must be trolling, they can choose to retract their FQ and not lose...SMH

That's a bit of an over reaction given they can retract the friendly at any time.

What’s even better are those individuals who will sit in the pause menu after they’re getting killed by the the 3rd inning and are in danger of being mercied and wait for the pause timer to to expire and then sneak the friendly quit in at the last second hoping you’re not paying attention and accidentally accept the friendly quit. Had that happen on more than a few occasions. I wish there was a way you could report those who exploit that. In the old days you used to be able to rate the gamer and pulling that bs would actually affect them being able to matchmake.

I agree. When it pops up, I deny immediately and play the game. I take my W or L and move on. No need for spite by letting timers run.

Just hit circle square. They wont have enough time to unpause after you reject the friendly and it will forfeit them.

Yeah I know I’m just saying its really poor sportsmanship and it should be punished as it really is abusing A game exploit. In other games if you abuse an exploit, it’s a punishable offense. For example: in MW2 there was a team exploit where you could get a the opposing team into a irreversible spawn trap on the map terminal. If you’re team was caught abusing that exploit you could be punished pretty severely for it. No reason that sds can’t impose some sort of punishment for this activity. It’s not what the friendly quit was meant for. That’s all.

I request friendly quits sometimes. I don’t care about the records one bit. I request friendly quits if for the 3rd game in a row I get matched up with the meta of Hal pitching at Shippet.....I just like playing different people at different stadiums and if it’s the SAME pitcher at the SAME stadium I request that we not play. If it’s rejected then I just suck it up and play but I don’t see any harm in asking. Isn’t that what the option is there for?
-
I get fq sent all the time in RS. Maybe 8 out of 10 games. It's w/e. Just a quick decline and move on doesn't really take any time at all and I don't think much of it.
-
i mean I usually offer or take FQ if I see kluber v kluber for the zillionth time simply because no one wants to deal with it
-
buncha babies is what it is
i got two FQ's the other day both times when I'm up 8-0
in what universe would i accept that FQ..... in the 6th inning..... im gonna let their timers go down and take a blaze break let them sit in their big L for awhile
-
I never ask for a friendly quit, even when I'm down 15-0 going into the bottom of the 2nd with the mercy rule hanging over my head. It ain't over until the fat lady sings - thanks, Yogi.
-
Most people only use it when they get matched up with Kluber for the thousandth time
-
I never ask for them once a pitch has been thrown, but I’ll occasionally ask for one at the start of if it’s a pitcher I hate or is repetitive (I actually don’t hate seeing Kluber...but don’t wanna play him 3x in a row).
I don’t see an issue with asking for one at the start...but also don’t see an issue with declining. What sucks is when you decline and the person resorts to various forms of jackassery.

Yeah that’s always very annoying. My advice is that if you decline that friendly you better be ready for a sweaty game cause that player will be very motivated to beat you and prove you wrong.
