If it wasn't for the auto-shift

Wait a minute. You are really trying to flex about hitting 450 on AS in BR?
That's like claiming you have the best toilet in the world because it flushes.
Enjoy your day. Happy flushing!
Let me see you do it, show us your stats.

Serious question... I turned off automatic shift because I noticed so many “late/okay doubles. However since I’m flirting with the 800s, I’ve noticed more teams are shifting again. I assume at the high skill level it’s more effective?
I have the shift off and I'm doing just fine in the higher levels. It works even better there I would say, because the fastballs come in a whole lot faster and therefore it's more likely you'll give up those late swing doubles against the shift.

Once again Johnny, I don't need, nor try to measure up with anyone on a forum. You have a massive micropeen complex about people believing you on claims. You do realize that I'm playing with your insecurities.
Nobody cares what people hit on AS in BR or against the CPU. Frankly, I don't care either about whatever stats I accumulated with the state of play on AS.
Keep flushing though. Have a great day out there. I hope you have other areas in life to bring you joy. Asking strangers to look at each other's profiles online doesn't do it for me. You do you though.

Because you can't and you know it. You just talk a lot.

Because they're terrible and you know it.

And yet you took the effort to look up my real name. You say a lot of things and then act the exact opposite. You're blocked, I'm tired of you.

I read something somewhere I forgot, but it said that Albert Pujols would have maybe 4,000 hits if the shift didn’t exist.

True, but once again I have no issues with the shift in general. My issue is that the game helps players by putting on shifts automatically.

Same I wish it was manual and not automatic

I'll bunt vs auto shift against a lefty

I do that sometimes, problem is that all of my lefties are big power guys with terrible bunting stats and I just can't bunt it where I want it half the time as a result. Not really worth giving up an out when it goes straight to the pitcher or foul or popped up for the catcher when I could just hit it over the shift instead.

I've got Didi,l and CarGo who can beat it out. Rarely I'll do it with Yelich off the bench too.

Smoking some good crack. I have no desire to know anything about you, NVM your real information. You've got issues. Thanks for the block. I was losing sleep over what you think of me.

I would be batting .450 or higher. That's not even an exaggeration. I absolutely hate the fact that the auto-shift is turned on by default. Using a shift, or not, is a strategic decision and should be user controlled at all times.
If you lack the presence of mind to put on a shift in a specific situation, or if you're simply too lazy to do the defensive adjustments, I feel like you should be burned by those balls through the infield holes every single time. But now, the game bails you out by putting an auto-shift on basically 80% of the players in the game, making those well hit pulled balls into the shift ot lasers up the middle automatic outs. Those are great at bats with great swings being outs while my opponent did absolutely nothing for it. Another fine example of lowering the skill gap.

I really do hope SDS sees this thread and takes it as real feedback worth listening to, especially within the context of RS. Give the new guys a tutorial if you have to on the importance of setting their field positions. I'd say anything SDS can do to present a gap in skill, should be something they're looking to pounce on and give to us. Especially since this particular issue is 100% void of any animation bugs/glitches and won't take much of their resources to debug or ever patch.

Great showing of your intelligence if that's your take away from this thread.

You can actually do it at the beginning of the game for every batter in the line up, or choose to do it on the go. And I really don't mind, those adjustments just take a couple of seconds. Reality is most people don't even know how to set everything properly because the auto-shift does everything for them and they've been relying on the game to do it for them for years.
Can I shift all of my fielders into the stands? That way, I'll catch the 10 bombs you hit in a row, then you strike me out 3x in a row, mercy rule, and we'll be done in 5 minutes. Plus, I'll get my 9 "affinity" innings for my hapless Pirates. Win/win!
