Prime McGee vs. Prime Britton
-
Britton allowed 4 runs in 69 appearances in 2016..
And Showalter brought in Ubaldo in the WC game instead!!! Lol
-
Yup. If only this was the only backwards thing in the game
-
really no need to complain over another lefty reliever especially since it wasn't a brave...in all seriousness ratings will forever be a joke just be happy at least Jake McGee is a real major leaguer this time
-
Where the hell is my Prime Venters?
-
Where are you guys seeing these cards? I don't see anything on Twitter
-
SDS are incompetent at many things, coming up with ratings for cards is one of those things.

It's already in game

Do you guys even know what drives ratings? I don’t know how and what years they choose for prime cards but H/9, K/9, HR/9, and BB/9 drive a pitchers ratings. Here’s what I came up with:
McGee
H-6.4
HR-.65
BB- 2.3
K-11.42
2012-2015Britton
H-6.7
HR-.47
BB-2.82
K-8.75
2014-2017In-game attributes
JM-109 H/9 ZB- 110 H/9
JM-93 HR/9 ZB-98 K/9
JM- 89 BB/9 89 CTRL ZB 84 BB/9 CTRL 89
JM-115 K/9 ZB-99 K/9As you can see, Zack Britton and Jake McGee are both very similar in H/9, BB/9, and HR/9, both in what I chose as their “primes” and in game. McGee struck out more batters. Plain and simple, that is why he is rated higher, because his K/9 is 16 points higher in game because he had 3 points higher K/9 in real life.
I am not saying that McGee was better than Britton, because he wasn’t. Ratings are juiced for hitters and future stars, yeah whatever. Pitchers ratings are pretty much only based on real life per nines. Not FIP, not ERA+, no advanced metrics. Pitchers ratings are pretty much spot on accurate. Its why Glavine is a 95 also

Exactly, people get to caught up in the overall instead of looking at what things affect the overall of a player in MLB The Show

This is why SDS needs to get with the times, and use stats that actually matter and tell the whole story.
They’re too lazy to update their clearly broken formulas though.
