I feel like hitting in 18 was low key better than this year. At least in 18 when the pci was on the ball it went somewhere. This year I haven’t got the slightest idea what is going to happen to the ball when I hit it.

I'd argue that it wasn't just because contact hitters were pretty bad in 18, whereas I have guys like Kenny Lofton this year who has like a 1.200 OPS. I can mash with them.

But that's not to say hitting in 20 is in a great place. Perfect/perfect is absolutely rewarding, but good/ok happens too often without an explanation why.

I second this. 20 is not perfect by any means, but 18 was a disgrace.

18 was by far the worst iteration and it's not even close.

It was easier to get your pci on the ball because you had twice the amount of time for the pitch to cross the plate. Only good thing about 18 was that the sinker was an actual sinker and rarely used.

18 was slow pitch softball, let Ruth and all your only immortal lineup go deep. Much diversity
