Game Update 1.12 Thread

Hmm no changes to fielding? Time for me to move on.
-
Extremely disappointed no gameplay improvements in patch. Still some major issues need to be fixed for this game to be enjoyable game play wise. Pitching hasnt gotten fixed yet and still having problem with defensive urgency when making routine plays against speedy runners.
I was really hoping we would get a gameplay update with the 4th inning.
This year has been extremely disappointing and a real let down with gameplay and enjoyablity.
Please address pitching soon, please.
-
I think we are wrong to assume pitching is “broken” on their end. Pitching may be functioning exactly how they want it to.

Don’t be surprised when you start seeing Something/Something showing up in your swing feedback
You just put yourself into contention for comment of the year lmao
It’s an honor just to be nominated.

Cmon guys, the biggest problem is gameplay. We need that fixed. I almost never hate on you guys but I’ve payed for this game. I would like to see a game play patch so I know I'm getting my money's worth

What the hell is a "scorebug OSD"?
SDS go home, you're drunk.
Scorebug is the scoreboard and OSD is on-screen display, so "scorebug OSD"= on-screen display scoreboard
I'm pretty sure a scoreboard is still a scoreboard. Scorebug is definitely gotta be a new slang term or something. Maybe it's a new dance from Fortnite?
-
I wish they'd fix the Good/Okay OSD which seemingly shows up regardless of how well my PCI is placed. Not sure how much more dead center I can get it to get at least "Good" contact.
-
"I think they've given up this year"..."too far gone"..."looking to next year already"......do you guys realize you regurgitate the same thing every year?
"Phoning it in"...that's another good one
-
So were just not going to touch on the fact that fielding and pitching is still like Russian roulette? Ok thanks for confirming your just phoning it in now SDS. That's face it this is a garbage fire this year.
-
I think “Scorebug” is when the stadium scoreboard and in game menu scoreboard are showing different scores on them. I’ve had a few games where I was called “out” at the plate but the commentary and stadium scoreboard still gave me credit for the run but the game considered me out and didn’t count the run. Here are a few examples from my online games. Add the runs in each inning up and you’ll see what I mean...
-
Color commentary corrections.... does that mean I no longer hear them say, “He’s certainly no Chipper Jones” when Chipper’s actually up to bat? Lol

Doesn’t matter... I’ve already gave up on this years game
The little details in life..Bet thats normal to try something , get frustrated and give up. In life you will take a thousand Ls for every W. Somethings you might be great at. A little adversity breeds intensity my man. A little life gem

This is underwhelming. I was expecting a gameplay patch, they know the game is in a bad place right now but they must be focusing on next years game already

A score bug (or, in an expanded form, a score box or score bar) is a digital on-screen graphic which is displayed at either the top or lower third bottom of the television screen during a broadcast of a sporting event in order to display the current score and other statistics.
(from Wikipedia, this is a commonly used term, not something sds made up)

@Collin_SDS In order to head off the next hundred angry posts from customers, can we get confirmation whether gameplay (not visual) updates are done for the year? If the team is already 100% moved on to 21' it would be good to know. Otherwise there will be a lot of needless speculation and arguing here that benefits no one.

This is a great question. Too bad they never answer legitimate questions. They usually appear when people swear.

To be fair, managing user expectations is a minefield. People try to read things into what you say, and in the gaming context often standard business decisions that most companies would make are perceived as crimes against humanity. There's a lot more emotion involved than you have for an email client or something. Firestorms start over little things, and bigger issues can spin out of control and infect social media. No one wants to see their name quoted in a negative viral post about the game. No one wants to be associated with a decrease in stub sales because they said a little too much in a forum post that turned away users. Constraining dev updates to one way communication (like the dev stream) avoids some of this problem. If I was at SDS I would not look forward to facing this forum with news they don't want to hear.
-
Don’t they only make gameplay adjustments every other patch??

At the end of the day it’s still a business. Maybe what the decent players want (an input based game with no RNG) is not the bes for the business.
