Yeah, you and me both. I bought 5 Headliners trying to get Matt Kemp... ugh... just ended up having to buy him off the market. He is amazing though and was totally worth it!
Also bought a Headliner pack yesterday hoping to get lucky and pull a Carter Kieboom. I think I've learned my lesson with these.

Yah I plan on getting him back, I want my outfield to eventually be Kemp/Mantle/Trout.

Buy program cards now before they shoot up in price later.

I finished the Live Series collection last week and had quite a bit of Stubs left over. I ended up spending over 200K on:
- Matt Kemp [160k]
- Dodgers Team Affinity to 60/120
- Indians Team Affinity to 68/120
- Royals Team Affinity to 71/120
- Twins Team Affinity to 60/120
- Reds Team Affinity to 70/120
- Pirates Team Affinity to 60/120
- Royals Team Affinity to 71/120
- Marlins Team Affinity to 60/120
Basically, I'm planning on doing a M2O with each one of those teams; in fact, I'm almost done with the Marlins and Royals.
Just do the Stage 2 AL and NL showdowns. Great xp, stubs, packs, and 20 TA points each time you complete it
-
I bought players for exchanges for team affinity. Got every team to 120

What kind of program cards are you referring too?
-
@PUIG66RULES said in Stubs after Mickey:
I'm saving them up just in case of a Honus type of collection. If one doesn't happen then I can just buy top tier players later on in the year
Can someone explain the Honus collection from 19? I am new to building collections
-
@stryder_28 a lil thing I like to do is every time I log on I filter the market for 72 bronzes less then 100 stubs, buy them all up and repeat before signing off. Not really concerned about who to chase after getting 16 FS’s so far just going for the cheapest cards
Usually several in the AM-1 PM range, not as many in the evening tho

Breakout, Allstar, Veteran, Rookie, etc. A certain number of each will be needed for the overall collection reward at the end of the year. Last year, it was Honus Wagner.

I wish TA stage 1 and 2 collections gave better rewards then a couple thousand stubs and XP. I think it’s more rare to have TA collections completed for both stages then it is too see someone with Mantle. Hundreds of thousands of stubs dumped into TA exchanges SDS the least you can do is give better rewards for the collections. You’d give people even more of an incentive to play showdown and dump stubs into exchanges

When you completed the flashbacks/legends collections, they attributed to an overall collection for Honus. For example, if you collected 10 of each of breakouts, rookies, veterans, so on and so forth, you would get rewards like stubs and XP (much like the Snell player program) until you had all of the required collections.
But I would expect the numbers of cards collected to be higher. I think you had to have 15 or 30 signature series cards last year to get Honus. And I think about 30 of everything else.

I feel like the rewards are great, a lotta free packs, a lotta free stubs, it really adds up. The rewards are motivating enough that doing showdowns are pretty fun because of the progress and rewards.

Please remind me to never do this again.

The rewards are good during the process, I guess I should have been more specific with collecting all 30...that’s where I mean the reward is blah. 3000 stubs/ 5000 xp for all 30 stage 1, 5000 stubs/5000 xp for all 30 stage 2
That’s kinda weak IMO

Ah gotcha, that makes sense. I think as we get further it will be worth more, just because I'd assume stage 3 will have stuff like all-star cards/veteran etc, (again, that's just me assuming, but I don't think they'd make a third type of new card).
If that happens, those cards will be very useful for the Honus whatever collection. But I do agree that collecting all 30 FS could give you a better reward now, maybe they should have done something like at least a ballin is a habit bundle for all 30.

Did some TA exchanges otherwise continuing to flip and saving profits. The monster BR rewards that will be going for 400k plus will be here before you know it. And I sure won’t be going on any 12-0 runs.

Why specifically the 72 bronzes? Are they just efficient for TA exchanges at that price?
-
I got Mantle and went from 35k to like 875k stubs. The rat race is already over.

@BmoreBirds_3 i just like them bc their 997 just about 1000 exchange points each. Easy to go into exchange add up what I have and see what I need to get yet without having to do much math. 51 cards for 100 or > = 5,100 or less stubs for exchange
