Catchers calling games

I was just looking and I don't think there is an attribute for how well catchers call a game. What I mean is, I am sure you see when a catcher gives the pitcher a sign. We either agree and throw the pitch or disagree and throw what we want. It would be interesting if a catchers defense could also have an attribute for calling a game. Not all catchers called a great game. Bech did I know. But is because everything is based on a hitters scouting report? Just a thought.

But how do you measure that? Real baseball hasn't even found a way to quantify catchers calling games, we know some are better than others, but how much better? What are we basing it on?

Yea I’m not sure how you could give an attribute to game calling. What I would love to see though is a rating for receiving/pitch framing. There are catchers (Grandal for example) who are known to be great pitch framers and gain strike calls because of it. It’d be cool to see guys like that be able to get strike calls on borderline pitches.

I would prefer an attribute for the quality of name-calling. SS Bobby Cox would be off the charts.
