I started a Marlins M2O today and I swear, it's been so fun almost every game!

I've been updating the Trade Management screen pretty frequently but through 56 games, we've only made one trade; an all-too-necessary move to trade for Twins reliever Trevor May. Since being acquired, May has formed a three-man committee at closer for us along with Ryne Stanek -- who has an 0.00 ERA through nine-plus innings pitched -- and Brandon Kintzler, who has also been having a terrific start to the season with an ERA of 0.93 and has converted 9-of-9 save opportunities.
What has made it so much fun is that with Villar, Brian Anderson, and Garret Cooper being so versatile, I've had to move guys around a lot and most games, utilize the entire bench. Not to mention, I've been in some absolute nail-biters, even hitting a walk-off 2-run home run against the Nationals in the last third of the bottom of the 9th inning with Matt Joyce pinch-hitting. It was also Joyce's 1st HR of the season, too!
Our young starting rotation have exceeded all expectations and more. Caleb Smith is leading the National League in WAR among pitchers. All five members of the rotation have an ERA under 4.00 which has helped us take a full 7.0 game lead over the second place Mets in the NL East. We are currently 37-19 and looking to acquire a few big pieces for the stretch-run before the Trade Deadline. We are, however, in desperate need of a left-handed power-hitter. I have been targeting Andrew Benintendi, Joc Pederson, Miguel Sano, Ryan Zimmerman, Tommy La Stella, Corey Seager, Aristides Aquino, Nomar Mazara, and aiming a bit high for Eugenio Suarez.

Nice MTO is great. You could also target yelich. He’s a very common MTO trade.

Awesome thread! Sounds like I should give a Marlins MTO a go.
On Caleb Smith - the game must like him - Last year my RTTS CF witnessed the Mets’ second no hitter, thrown by Smith.

The Marlins were really fun to use in MTO. Dickerson and Villar have glitchy pop. In both my runs I had Franmil Reyes and Johnathan Schoop added. On one of the runs I got Freddie Freeman. Lots of homeruns hit.
-
Yup, agreed. I’ve completed 15-20 so far and the Marlins one I am doing now has been really fun. I’ll play through with them again.

Just made our second trade!
Finally got the left-handed power I was looking for as we traded with the Cleveland Indians for Tyler Naquin -- who also brings top-level defensive ability to the outfield and an absolute cannon of an arm (99 arm strength).
We'd still love to make a big splash before the deadline and get a piece like Francisco Lindor or Whit Merrifield; and we're also keeping our eyes out for a veteran ace starting pitcher who can lead us into the playoffs. I'm considering making a run at Zack Greinke, Hyun-Jin Ryu, Mike Clevinger, Matthew Boyd, Jose Berrios, or Yu Darvish.
My Miami Marlins now sit at 53-25 with a 12+ game lead in the NL East.

...and now I just entered a game with Jordan Yamamoto trying to finish off a no-hitter against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Down to the very last hitter after Kolton Wong missed getting the first hit of the game by a mere inch or so after a really well-placed bunt. Tommy Edman takes to the plate and history can be made in this at-bat...
Edman drives a ball to the right wall but Tyler Naquin runs it down and history has been made! Jordan Yamamoto has thrown the Marlins' first no-hitter since Edinson Volquez did it against the Diamondbacks June 3rd, 2017.

We have made another trade a few weeks before the Trade Deadline, this time bringing in...
- Andrelton Simmons, SS [LAA]
At first glance, Andrelton SImmons looks a tad redundant with Miguel Rojas already on the team but we've been looking for a stronger arm at shortstop so we can move Rojas to 2B full-time for awhile now. Simmons will slot in as a #2 hitter between Villar and Aguilar/Dickerson. Another plus, he looks awesome in a Marlins uniform!
We gave up Magneuris Sierra and a C or B grade fake prospect.
Our team now looks like this:
Ace - Jordan Yamamoto [81]
SP2 - Caleb Smith [79]
SP3 - Pablo Lopez [82]
SP4 - Sandy Alcantara [81]
SP5 - Jose Urena [80]LR - Elieser Hernandez [71]
MID - Jeff Brigham [65]
MID - Adam Conley [64]
MID - Yimi Garcia [74]
SU7 - Brandon Kintzler [72]
SU8 - Ryne Stanek [77]
CL9 - Trevor May [86]1 Jonathan Villar [CF]
2 Andrelton Simmons [SS]
3 Garrett Cooper [1B]
4 Corey Dickerson [LF]
5 Jorge Alfaro [C]
6 Brian Anderson [3B]
7 Tyler Naquin [RF]
8 Miguel Rojas [2B]Bench
Jesus Aguilar [1B]
Jon Berti [2B/3B/OF]
Isan Diaz [2B]
Lewis Brinson [OF]
Francisco Cervelli [C] - Andrelton Simmons, SS [LAA]

Yes!!!!! Tyler Naquin will makes Cleveland regret getting rid of him.

A week before the deadline, we have made another trade to improve our hitting by acquiring..
Former top-prospect and Boston Red Sox OF Andrew Benintendi!
It cost quite a bit to get him. We sent two A prospects but he's someone I thought could fit the Marlins for the short-term but also our long-term goals. We are now going to be heavily shopping Corey DIckerson before the Trade Deadline next week.
Edit: In his Marlins debut, Andrew Benintendi hit 3 doubles! What a performance.

Marlins MTO has been my favorite I have done so far in the seven MTOs I've completed. We traded for Kyle Tucker, Jorge Soler, and ended up getting JT Realmuto back in Miami for Sixto Sanchez. What a trade!

That's crazy, I had multiple opportunities to get J.T. Realmuto back too but I thought that was too far from reality; plus, Jorge Alfaro was like 5th in WAR for hitters so how could I replace him?
Ultimately, our final trade before the Trade Deadline was for Cardinals reliever Andrew Miller. He has been tremendous for us in the late season push and now into the playoffs.

I always seem to end up with Soler on my teams. He's a beast with the bat.

For whatever reason, I got him on my 2nd White Sox M2O -- which was strange because with an influx of guys who could/should be a DH, he obviously wasn't a need but the guy is just so good that I can't turn an offer down when I see him there.

Mabey i'll start a Marlins MTO, can't be any worse then the Braves. Just lost a 25 inning game because they can't hit anything. Everything was Good/poped or good/good right at a fielder. I'm so frustrated with this Braves MTO.
