Best experience of the game so far this year since the last update. I was already impressed at first but after more online games it confirmed to me that Hitting seems pretty good except for okay contact in the middle of the PCI. Happens way too often. Still some work needed on fielding in the outfield specifically on fly balls. And for the love of Gawd can we get rid of friendly quits in the middle of a game. How weak is that. If u wanna quit, quit and take the L like a man.

Pitcher confidence should only really help with location. Other than that, it shouldn’t nerf anyone’s ability to hit.

Earlier in a RS game defensive miscues in one inning cost me the game. Diamond sandberg played a dribbler slowly followed up with a ground ball at my cap who is a diamond fielding SS who got the grounder and did a 360 turn instead of throwing to 2nd. Follow that up with my silver fielding LFer letting the ball pass him and what you get is 6 unearned runs. This is unacceptable

In about 35 games post-patch online(12 in Ranked Seasons and the rest events), here is my take on what I've noticed.

    • Perfect-Perfect is no longer a .800 success rate like was talked about in the developer streams. I tracked for five games through ranked, and my perfect-perfects were 5-10. (Last night I lost a game where my opponent hit an HR on P-P, but my P-P with Chipper Jones off of Patrick Corbin was warning track power).

    • Good/Okay is so much more common, with no real understanding of why it is rewarded. I've seen 4 HRs on Good/Okay below 90 mph exit velocity. Yet, Good/Good and Squared up balls are dying consistently in the outfield.

    • Pitching is extremely frustrating. 0-2 count, put the ball (changeup, curveball, etc.)in the dirt hoping for opponent to chase and two things happen... a) they are very early but still somehow make contact for a foul ball. b) you get proper pitching release, and the game decides you didn't want in the dirt, so it hovers up to clip the bottom of the zone, and it's ripped for a hit, HR, or out. It's just frustrating when it feels like the game is deciding for you.

    • I'm not a programmer by any means. However, I'm confused about how the game played so well at launch, and now here we are. I feel like the only thing that needed to be buffed from the get-go was pitching. But instead, you tuned down hitting, which has completely changed the meta of the game. At the beginning, you could get strikeouts, you felt rewarded for your PCI placement, and you were okay with a little randomness with pitching. Now, it's like we're trying to play catch-up with these patches when the only thing needing to be touched was the pitch accuracy slider.

    • Fielders are still not locking onto the ball near the wall, causing random triples/doubles when the ball is only a foot above their head. The homerun banner yet isn't fixed. Eighty-five-speed guys just jog down the first baseline on an infield grounder, and the 45-speed guys make it a closer play on the same groundball.

agree with all of this. Especially point #4. Hitting was great before that patch, they just needed to buff pitching, give more strikes on the black.

Was hoping after 10 days post patch that my attitude towards game play would improve.
After 10 days it's almost as if I'm having to learn how to hit all over again...either early or late, and when I do get a "good" it's wasted. I'm not sure what's transpired in 48 hours but hitting is worse. And this is offline.

I'm not really sure if I even have the same version of MLB 20 the show that these folks have that are just giving high praise for "improvement". It's worse...it's downright horrible. Hitting timing horrid, still with fielding issues, and pitching shenanigans, as well as the unsure level being played (veteran, all star or unknown).

Two months in and this is the product we're stuck with, unfortunately. COVID, I get it...issues getting stuff done, I get it...screw with 1st week game play, I don't get it...drop patches that make the game worse, I don't get it.

Again, I'm strictly vs CPU and I'm basically about done with this game, and any future endeavors. No longer fun, enjoyable or rewarding. Sorry guys, you've lost this customer. I'll show myself out...

0-2 on perfect swings and 5 13 or higher outs and i just lost 3-2. Last out was a perfect perfect liner by Soto vs fingers. How do you expect ppl to be competitive?

That’s blatantly false, PCI is noticeably larger and swing timing windows are wider and more forgiving. If you can’t tell the difference between 1.10 and 1.11 in that respect simply by playing and you’re not seeing a difference reflected in the stats (more runs per game, more foul balls, less strikeouts) then I don’t think you’re a great candidate to offer feedback on the improvements or lack thereof in patch 1.11. Fielding is still the same because this patch addressed nothing related to fielding according to the patch notes other than polishing the get up animation following a dive with the ball in hand and outfielders taking non urgent throws in urgent situations.
The last part specifically relating to outfielder throw urgency may mean you expect to see laser beam throws from outfielders, but the game has to allow slower baserunners ample opportunity to reach second base on what would reasonably be expected to be a extra base hit, so there will always be that crow hop or setting of the feet, that’s in there by design and won’t be eradicated at any point.

It feels like Hitting was tuned server side a couple days after the patch dropped, nerfing it a bit and making it feel more random. It’s still better than it was pre 1.11 but not by much.

Right after the patch dropped hitting felt good and was fun and I was hoping they would tune pitching before touching the hitting again.

Now it feels like too many good/okay and popped, the timing feedback feels off, and exit velos where the inner PCI is covering the ball are too low. Feels random again and less rewarding.

Pitching still needs attention and should receive it in the next patch IMO or the one right after if 1.12 focuses on hitting again.
