Would you patch in an option so sliding is entirely up to the player? Tired of being robbed of extra bases because the CPU decides to slide into the base even though the ball is still in the outfield.

The option is already in the game. Use classic base running (buttons/d-pad only, avoid L1/R1) and guaranteed you will never have this problem or any other base running problem again, apart from the odd user error. Haven’t had a base running issue that wasn’t completely my fault ever. And the percentage of issues that are my fault are about 5% of what they were when I used L1/R1.

From what I’ve seen of default base running in clips, it is very problematic. You don’t see those issues with classic.

I hope you’ll consider giving it a go. A few weeks ago I posted a bit of a guide to another thread if you’re keen to give classic a go.

My request is for them to watch some games. Since they never played and were all on the math team, I can see why a baserunner would return the base, WITH 2 OUTS!!! Unacceptable. Learn the game.

It’s the first thing I do every year when I pick up the game. I’ve dealt with way too many “lag” issues or things of that sort with the “L1/R1” business. Classic has almost never steered me wrong. Takes a little more effort and focus, but I’d prefer it that way.

Your request was probably denied. They would have the leave the basement in order to watch some TV. Sad thing, these guys are probably playing fortnite instead of giving it the ol college try on fixing the gameplay.

That wouldn’t be programmed in, it would be an unintended result of an error in the game’s logic.

Unfortunately logic errors are the most difficult to fix because the program won’t tell you what causes it. And if it happens rarely (like the above - I’ve not once seen it, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen) then you have an almost impossible mission to figure out the cause and have to rely on video evidence providing as much context as possible.
