I’ve been teaching myself to switch hit. It’s pretty fun actually but I’m still quite terrible. I’ve taken about 1-2000 swings in the last few days and I figure I’ll need about 100,000 swings before I’m any good. It’s a good way to pass the time and hopefully will become useful if/when baseball starts up again. I’ll likely never switch hit in a game, since I’m a natural lefty and there are very few left handed pitchers in my league. It is however, a good thing to learn how to hit from the other side because there’s no instinct to it and you have to learn from the ground up, which will negate all of your bad habits and help with the natural side. I’ll bet most major leaguers are competent at hitting from the other side, even if they aren’t “switch hitters.”

I tried in college a couple of times after a few nights of drunken debauchery...wasn't for me.
