Have never spent money for stubs simply because I like the challenge of being no money spent and trying to complete the whole live series collection.
To each their own though, you wanna spend a hundred on stubs go for it. I have though spent hundreds on myplayer in 2k before, so I get it.

    just work the market people.
stub sales are actually the BEST time to sell your cards as prices rise. I remember in '19 selling a 20k card for 45k and then buying it back later after the sale for less than 20k.
couple of hours every day and stack your profits. 150K in stubs could be had in awhile, and you can do it on your phone on your spare time.....

Man, I can’t find my rhythm this year. I’m looking at taking a loss on a couple golds becuase I bought them at what I thought was a decent price and then the floor dropped. Just can’t find the sweet spot this year, though I have flipped a bit. I take a loss every now and then when something g drops that I didn’t expect

People spend big to plant flowers that will be dead in a matter of months if not weeks I've never thought to question or try to talk about it as if it were wrong

    Before I was married with a kid, I'd blow $100-$500 at a bar, 2-3 times a week.
$100 a week on something I put quite a bit of time to is a total non issue..
If I didn't have the income, sure, it would be stupid to do that.. but I do, so whatever.
Last week I spent $1500 on upgrading my dishwasher to have a 3rd rack and be quieter even though our old one was just fine. Happy wife

I would be your "wife" in that scenario as I got rid of ours after 1.5 years because I found it too noisey. This one will probably wash my taint as well if I wanted lol

It’s fun reading all the justifications.

If you own your house and your networth is north of a million and your under 35 then spending a couple grand a year on games is meh but okay.

If not talk to some old people who eat cat food to save money and ask how their life is and would they rather have virtual cards when they are young or eat regular food and have financial independence when they are older. I’m guessing they won’t take Mickey Mantle card for a year lol.

To each their own tho. I guess we all have different plans in life otherwise everybody would be happy.

I appreciate hearing these stories. Thanks guys. I’ve thought about buying a 50 dollar before, but in the end 75k in stubs isn’t going to to much. If I couldn’t play as much, I always thought I would drop a 59 every other Friday or something. But, like the other guy said, I do like the “challenge” of NMS if you will.

On a side note, we also recently got a new dishwasher. Since now we pretty much run to at least every day. So, that was a really good investment.

There’s too many real, physical things I’d rather buy. I can’t imagine just flushing money down the drain on stubs.

I probably spend more time on eBay than I do on this forum, and that’s saying a lot.

I would never spend money on a game past the initial game fee. I bought digital deluxe so I guess that makes me a minnow. Not that I can’t, it just cheapens the sense of accomplishment for me. I have played SW:Galaxy of Heroes for 4 1/2 years NMS and swear its the best game I have ever played. Give props to those that do spend money to keep it going though.

And in return for scamming you of your extra money, they give you a buggy unfinished product. Suckers

Have you ever paid money for an average movie, or gone out to a restaurant and ended up getting sub-par food and service? If not, you may continue to insult others as you are truly above us all.

Uh, that's why we have things called retirement plans, investments, and savings accounts. Everyone's largest discretionary spending is on entertainment. Some prefer video games. Others like restaurants, movies, golfing, fishing, cars, guitars, or whatever else floats your boat.

If you are only spending your money on the most essential items and saving the rest, you will be old, eating the premium cat food, and wishing you had done something with your life before you were too old to enjoy it.

    What a ridiculous take.

And why do you seem to know so many old people who eat cat food? If you’re the second coming of John Rockefeller, why aren’t you buying the old people some real food?

Here’s a thought — I don’t drink and I never have. I am 36 and I have literally never paid for alcohol for myself in my life. If you’ve spent even a single penny on alcohol, then I think you’re destined to eat cat food. You see how that works? You make ridiculous judgments about our entertainment budgets, and we get to do the same.

Or traveling the country in their old age, playing lots of golf, enjoying finer things in life. I guess you could call that premium cat food. Find any financial planner that tells you to blow what’s probably 5-10% or more of you or discretionary income on virtual cards and we can talk about it lol.

It’s not close to the same. Price wouldn’t add up. Whatever makes you feel better for throwing your future away for virtual cards though I’m all for it. As long as we feel good inside.

You don’t think it’s bad enough to spend a third or more of your waking life on game imagine sprinkling in 10-20% of annual income for some people. Good luck finding any expert on anything to back that one up bud lol.

I haven’t bought any stubs in the last 2 to 3 years bc I’ve learned how to work the market. But if I would that’s the one I’d get. Best bang for your buck. With not being able to quick sell locked cards this year, I might buy the 100 $ one when it’s half off. I think it’s great that people can work the market but totally understand the people that buy instead. It’s time consuming and is a grind.
