Fair point. I just feels like there should be a happy medium

Last year I'd go 3 weeks without using a pitcher I invested stubs in...yeah no thanks.

you should be able to select a SP yes but get rid of the option to use them out of the pen

I would like to see you have to go through a five man rotation or an increase to energy depletion. Get rid of the starters out of the bullpen also. It is supposed to be about building a team with depth. Right now relievers are all but worthless.

This all would be fixed with a proper stamina system. The repeated use of the same guys, the use of only 3 rotation spots, using starters all the time in relief. If there was a proper stamina system, it would fix all of the pitcher selection issues.
And I'd hate going back to not being able to select your guy.

Back in MLBTS 12/13/14 you would have to use at least 4 of your starters. All 5 if you pitched deep with them. Their stamina took some time to regenerate. That’s what this game needs

A good point. I love being able to pick my pitchers offline, specifically to complete daily missions.
Online? There should be a true rotation. I'd like a system where a starter cannot play for another four games after a start, regardless of stamina.

I think you should be able to select your starters but the energy system should be fixed so you have to throw other guys. I also think that starting pitchers should not come out of the pen. With that said though, I think the long relief slot should be able to be fielded by a starter, but have the same energy rate as a starter. So if you put kluber in the long relief role and have him throw 3-4 innings, he won’t be ready for 2 games or so, and if you throw him longer, it’s a longer wait. To me this makes sense because most long relief roles in the majors are starters that didn’t make the rotation. To me this is where you can create more strategy, do you keep kluber in the rotation every 3-5 games or use him out of the pen for shorter work every 2-3 games

Last years rotation wasn't random. Once that pitcher popped up on your screen you were stuck with him for the day, lol. It was awful. I like th proper stamina idea. Possibly make it where the regen pace quickens for your down pitcher when using a fresh SP? It definitely need work. Whole game needs work.

I don’t want random pitchers.
They need to tweak stamina and make it more punitive and I’d advocate for a secondary position type penalty for bringing starters in as relievers.
That way it still it can be an option, but it becomes something you at least have to think about, or it may no longer be the optimal option.
I think it makes sense as it relates to real life as well, because a starter coming in for relief can often be a bit of a [censored] shoot, since it’s entirely different routine and situation that they are used to. -
Fix stamina and you will see a better mix of starting pitchers.

I use Maddux and Whitley for thr most part when I need to I’ll use Kluber but people use him like they have no one else

I honestly think Maddux is the most underrated pitcher in the game

I took Kluber out of my rotation, at least until I get back to hof, he’s terrible in all star. I’ve been playing the event a lot and haven’t grinded back to 700’s from ranked reset. I’ve really enjoyed not using him I was burnt out. So many other fun arms to use

I think we are getting close to Kluber being just another SP option. Not yet... But close. 96 Hamels just dropped. Soon we will be getting 97-99 SP's and Kluber will be in a crowd.

Not sure why they Cant severely reduce the stamina of starters when they came in relief . Maybe only the LRP slot can have higher stamina

Its what it should be. Forces people to get 5 reliable pitchers
