This. My most productive players in the event were Santana, Bell, Moncada, Brujan and Chipper. All free through TA programs and 1 inning boss.

Good for you. You know it's entirely possible to do the collections for Mantle without spending a dime right? I've been doing it like that for a while now.

Thanks, but you don't even have to be a good player to do it. You could work the market by flipping cards and make millions of stubs. It's not the most enjoyable thing to do and it's time consuming but many people do it this way.

I did collections without spending money or flipping cards. I don't buy packs I save my stubbs and I bought player's wisely. I pulled Trout and some diamonds out all the free packs I got.
Spending money, high xp etc doesn't make anyone a good player. Practice does.
Also why is there so many people worried about what grown men or women do with their hard earned money? It's either jealousy or them being broke!! IJS -
I thought the socialist baseball comment was especially interesting.
I mostly don’t spend money on this game, but I have opened my wallet to get a couple of those Mariners prospect cards.
It’s true that to some extent, better cards can help get better results in this game, but it’s a pretty minor advantage. I’ve lost to mostly gold teams and beaten god squads.
Why not just enjoy the game the way you want and let other people do the same?

I spent $200 when the game dropped an no regrets. Total investment for like $280 when you consider purchasing the game + stubs.
I'm like at <$0.50/hour of entertainment so far. Pretty solid return on investment from an entertainment point of view.
This event is great because I'm wearing it out going for Mantle/Chipper prestige. I'm even using Roberts/Victorino just for fun.
