So I'm playing my Cubs franchise, and instead of simulating games, I've been using the quick manage feature for all three levels (MLB, AAA, and AA). Through this process, I've noticed some increasingly frustrating things:

-The amount of sac bunts is ridiculous. Sacrificing is just not a big thing anymore outside of pitchers, but yet, it's a constant theme in quick manage. Not only that, I've seen middle of the order hitters (I'm talking GOOD hitters) bunt runners over. Middle of the order guys NEVER bunt, let alone when there's guys in RISP and/or a team is down by multiple runs. Additionally, your own team will sac bunt even if you say "swing". I had my number 8 hitter bunt a runner over with one out and the pitcher on deck. Sure enough, the pitcher struck out and I didn't score a run. This is a pretty big problem.

-Stolen bases are also insane. I can't count the number of below average speed and stealing guys who have swiped bags (not to mention they're stealing on good catchers). This is a feature that I admittedly exploited last year, but it's ridiculous this season.

    -There's no "double switch" feature.

-If an injury happens, the CPU subs in a player for you instead of your getting to choose who you wanted.

-There also seems to be WAY too many two out rallies. More than a few times, I've seen the first two guys of the inning go down, but then the next 5 or 6 hitter get on base (for both me and the CPU).

These details need some serious fixing.

Yes, I have noticed some of these things as well. Pretty unrealistic. I've also had a ton of outs at the plate. I'l had a game the other day where I had the winning run thrown out at the plate in extra innings 3 times in one game? IRL, you might see that happen once or twice in an entire season, but 3 times in one game? Come on now.

It's a great idea but it looks like unfortunately it's not utilised a lot by players therefore not a priority to make any improvements/fixes. I put together a bit of a list a few months ago after dabbling in it:

The Double Switch option is in the pitcher bullpen options, right under warm up, toss, put in.

Bumping up since all of these issues are still present in this year’s game and it kinda ruins it. In addition, I’d add a few others:

    • You can’t switch defensive positions during the game... making it very difficult to pinch hit.

    • Base running decisions are wacky. Too many times guys get thrown out trying to take a meaningless base (ex. trying to score from second on a single when you’re losing by 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th). Also, runners don’t go home from 3rd on 6-4-3 DPs in obvious situations where the infield isn’t in (mid-game).

I think part of the sacrifice/bunt issues are just very weak contact short ground outs (like a check swing chopper short of the mound,) being mislabeled as bunt/sacrifice. I have noticed that pop up occasionally playing a game, so it may just be the way those short/soft grounders are classified.
