When he dropped I had to have him, I've only used him 3 times in RS, 1 game he was great the other 2 he was pounded. With the way pitching is I don't know if I really need the card.

If I was able to sell him for 300k, I'd net 270k. I was looking at Spencer Howard as a replacement for Glavine. Plus I could boost my bullpen, add Dibble, Britton and Franco and have some stubs left. My other pen arms would be AS Doolittle, Awards Fingers, PS Eck and BO Gagne.

Does this seem like a good move? It seems like I rely on my pen more than my rotation lately.

He’s like a better version of Lodolo. I’m keeping him with the understanding that I’m gonna “lose” 1-200k stubs for the privilege of using him.

I bought him today for 221k. And got spooked having that much stubs invested into him and sold him for like 260k a few hours later. I still think he drops into like the 180k range before the next wave of BR rewards hit. He should maintain his value for a long time, but I think he gets cheaper.

Yeah, I can see both sides. I think it was mostly user error on the two bad starts, and right away I thought of the SS Chris Sale from last year when Glavine dropped. I know the Sale card was a 99, and has that delivery, but his price never did drop as I remember.

But as @allmustfall16 said I feel a bit uneasy having that many stubs tied to him. Still, he is one of my favorite players, I like that privilege of using him idea. Think I'll hold off until I get 40 wins in the event and play some RS again. It is a dice roll, I bought Chipper last year for about the same price, sold him expecting him to drop and he ended up near 450k I think.

    Thanks all!

I think you should keep him. Sometimes it’s just a matter of you not being used to him yet. He is the best Lefty in the game minus Hal and you’re a Braves fan. Personally I would keep him. If I was a Braves fan I would deff have a rotation of Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz and get to WS with them

I think he will be out of your rotation by July (he’s a 95 pitcher...last year, there would have been a half-dozen 99 pitchers by now), so that suggests selling him...but, BR rewards hold value pretty well, so there may not be a rush. Are you going for collections?...that would also impact my decision.

People tend to fall into this early trap of “This guy will NEVER leave my lineup!”...but they almost always do.

If you’re a Braves fan you can’t put a stub price on the amount of fun he offers.
