Anyone got any tips on hitting Chris Sale? I struggle so bad against him. I can crush Aroldis or Hader but cant touch Sale... he is my kryptonyte

I struggle against him too. I think it is his release point is really funky and it makes it hard to pick up what is coming until it is too late.

I find him incredibly easy to hit for the most part. The occasional player who knows how to pitch with him can make it difficult, but I can tell what pitch is coming out of the hand almost every time.

I hate seeing Sale in the lineup screen. It's the only time I actually consider quitting. I hate facing him and that arm action.

I just finished grinding my last 5 wins to get Crime Dog, the last 20 I’ve seen sale so much and said to myself I can’t wait til I’m done w this event and won’t see Chris sale again for awhile. After that I poo you not, 5 games in a row, Chris sale! I don’t really have trouble hitting him, I’m just soooo sick of facing him. Thank god im done w that event

He only gives me fits when he’s throwing in on lefties.

I had trouble hitting Sale when I first started playing, but it takes awhile to get his release point down. Go into custom practice and face him on Legend til it clicks and you won't forget it.

I'm sure he appreciates that tip.

This is the best advice anyone can give. Go into custom practice, juice up those sliders preferably, and just make him throw pitches to you until you're comfortable and seeing the ball well.

So how about some tips instead of boasting about how easy he is for you to hit?

OP was looking for help, not your accolades.

My help was to work on recognizing pitches out of the hand. If you can recognize the slider down vs fastball away/in for righties and lefties, you can hit him. Nice to see people still being as soft as wet toilet paper on here.

It wasn’t meant to be a boast. People see other pitchers better than others. I just figured when I talked about picking pitches up out of the hand, then that’s what should be practiced. There’s no magical place to start your pci or any of that.

Any tips for recognizing pitches out of the hand? I mean, I can see the "hump" of a hanging curveball, but most good players aren't going to throw curveballs up in the zone, and if a curveball starts low the hump is much harder to see. And I have a really hard time distinguishing a sinker or changeup from a fastball. I mean, I realize that's kind of the point of pitching and if hitting was easy everyone would score ten runs a game, but I've been playing The Show since the one with Ryan Howard on the cover and I still find myself basically guessing what the pitcher is going to throw until two strikes. I'm ok at the game but it's because my pitching and defense are pretty good; I think my team batting average is about .255.

In all honesty with Sale I just guess down and if my opponent can throw 3 fastballs in the upper corners I applaud him though I found it becomes a bit of a mind game where eventually they will second guess themselves and try to throw down and I just can't miss those

What hitting view are you using? SZ cam seems to work well with recognizing FB vs Slider out of sale’s hand. Also know that most people who use sale well try to tunnel the fastball and slider. So armside FB and slider down to the gloveside. People usually follow some sort of pattern too so you can pick up on it.

I do use strike zone. I wish it gave you more of a sense of depth; strike zone view seems to flatten things out in a way that makes things hard to time, at least for me. Some of the other views are better for timing, but all the others seem too far away to get a good read on the pitches.

What can you do. I still enjoy the game and trying to get better at it.
