C'mon man, seriously. Runner on third, deep fly to left center in front of the wall. Two perfect throws and my runner is out by two steps.
Next game. Runner on first, ground ball to first, throw pulls shortstop off bag towards right field onto the grass, spin, throw, runner dead by a full step.
These guys are legends and impossible to beat. So ridiculous and maddening.
For tag plays in showdown, I try to not go unless it's 100% he'll make it. I usually don't go if it's a sub 65-70 speed guy. From an average player here, showdown is a game of patience.

Some things that have been said before but
-patience. This is the number one thing you need for Showdown. Try only looking for one pitch, one location until you get two strikes.- no chances on the bases. Make sure you can 100% make it.
- Draft to your strengths. Do you have trouble striking out? Go for high contact, vision, speed guys instead of low vision power guys.
- Make sure to pick and equip the right perks
- Haven't played a showdown in a while but the cpu loves to throw the ball low when runner on first or infielders are in. I usually sit low with a runner on first to try to avoid the double play. Those kill in Showdowns.

Lost the NL East showdown the very first time I tried it. Maybe one AL East showdown. Didn’t lose any inning showdowns, and haven’t lost any Stage 2 showdowns. And I’ve played at least 50 of them.
So 48/50. That warrants being called easy imo.

You’ve lost a couple of showdowns even though their easy? Interesting.

stage 2 showdowns are pretty easy. I have about a 70% success rate. Stage 1 showdowns are another story entirely lol
1st Inning showdown took 10+ tries to complete.
2nd inning took 3 tries
3rd inning took 2If I can do stage 2, 2nd inning, and 3rd inning then anyone can lol
Yeah I'm mid to upper 90% for stage 2s but it doesn't change the fact that sometimes it's just B.S.
I've lost to first minibosses despite having amazing placements on 10/12 outs. Sometimes the sliders are just too stacked against you

Even if you're good, sometimes you get unlucky. It happens.
If you're not good, you can make 50 accounts and complain on TSN that they're too hard. Like you

I’ll remind you of your luck comment next time you tell someone to “git gud”.
Show me where I said showdown was too hard.

I admit that I went 30 failed attempts before my first win overall, after that first one I have pretty much won more showdowns than lost.
None of these suggestions are original ideas but here is what helped me.
-
On showdown bosses, wait out all pitches until a 2 strike count. Doesn’t matter if the pitch is down the middle, it is far more important to stamina drain at the expense of hittable pitches.
-
Don’t bother stealing, bunting, or anything that gives away outs for gain (except above)
-
Ice Water Veins, OppoTaco, Heart Attack are my top 3 perks. I tend to get jammed too often with Insider Edge for me to benefit from it. OppoTaco (especially stacked) is perfect for low and away pitches with same handed at bats. Opposite handed match ups doesn’t need that type of perk (or any zoned based perk).
4). Once pitcher is in red you can be more liberal with what pitches to swing with, however, if you have Ice Water Veins still wait out the 2 strikes.
5). Walks are just as good (if not better) than hits in the early part of the showdown battle.
6). IMO most important, whether you use my advice (ymmv) or someone else, NEVER deviate from your overall plan, getting complacent is far more hurtful than bad luck.
