How do you guys play RS consistently?
-
Played my first game in about a week and it went scripture to how it’s described by others on this forum.
Only runs scored are homers.
Hal pitched a complete game against me of course. Perfect perfect fly ball with Mickey Mantle dies at the track...
I’m genuinely curious for those that play RS as their main mode: HOW?
Do you just get used to the BS, the pitchers duels and Homeruns only?
Now that I have collections done and a lot of the offline stuff done I just want to enjoy my team, but I can’t do RS if it’s like this.
I have a nearly all 99 team, get perfect / perfect or good / good contact and they’re outs.
How do y’all get past this and enjoy it cuz I’m gonba be done w this game before quarantine ends at this rate.
-
They’ve ruined this game with too much Sim and RNG. I quit playing online, that’s how I deal with it.
-
This game is the most pathetic excuse for an online game. I’d rather play back yard baseball
-
I cant do more than 1 or 2 games RS a day... Its a pathetic excuse of a Baseball Game. specially online.

Did you see my thread? IMO, if you have really good or really bad internet, you simply can't play this game competitively. It will cause nothing but frustration. Haven't looked in a bit but I think my record is now like 70-50. Probably 30 of those have been quits. The higher you go, the more games you see with the issues I listed in my previous thread. I play with different lineups, cards, put in cards to do dailies, using meter pitching which I am not very good at. It has made the game much more enjoyable. I got to around 860 and ran into 3 straight games with all the issues I listed, felt like I just got out of the shower and facing the same lineups and pitchers and said that was it.
FOFT Soto and Bell are two of my best hitters this year. When I drop down, I take these people out and use different cards. I am currently running an all gold lineup in RS. Just my way of making the game more enjoyable.

Just hung a 6 spot in one inning on some poor chap.
I destroy Oswalt every time.
-
Biggio just hit his 3rd homer of the game. THis poor chap is getting his cheeks clapped!
-
Mercy ruled him.

I have a wired connection, Xfinity, 1ms response time monitor, Idk what else I can do about connection.

As sick as it is, ranked is the truest form of the game for me... Real baseball does not go according to script. If you consistently play well you win more often than not. The fielding errors irk me, of course, but they go both ways and have gotten better. The thing that irks me the most is hitting FEEDBACK. If you don't look at the feedback and watch the swing/listen to the bat crack you can tell when you got it timed up. But the ones where your PCi is a split second late and you're slightly off center but still show good good and its a lazy fly to right, that drives me nuts.
In terms of enjoyment, it's easy if you stay competitive. You can always make ground back up in ranking even if you lose a game. I play a game of conquest before RS to warm up, at whatever level I'm at online, that helps with the timing. Never go into a ranked game cold.
Also, the competition is the best... I'd rather be at 700 in ranked than win a season on legendary, there's no pride in beating a computer

I've decided I'm not playing online this upcoming ranked season. After making a WS push last night, I've dealt with enough randomness to convince me this is not a skill based game. Everything you described is accurate. Its more of dealing with BS than actually having fun playing the game

EXACTLY! When I win OR lose, I can't tell if earned it, or if it was just my "turn" on the wheel of home runs.

I definitely didn't earn my win that pushed me to WS. At the very least, it should have been a close game. My opponent just happened to get unlucky and have every hard hit ball go directly to a fielder

How do you mercy rule someone? Is there a certain amount of runs?

10 runs I guess. I was up 11-1 after 7 and it ended.

Idk how the ppl that created this game still have jobs or how ppl buy this game year after year.
It'll be a one and done for me. There are cheaper things I can do if I wanna get frustrated and pull my hair out.

I was at 860 on 2 separate occasions and probably could have pushed through to the WS. May have taken another 10-20 games, who knows. I do know that dropping down, changing cards and other things ended up being a lot more fun. Wins don't excite me anymore because I don't know if the opponent was dealing with a 120 mph fastball. Game would be more satisfying if ping based matchmaking created a level playing field.
Before the last few games, I was playing event with all gold lineup. Mainly because I didn't have a diamond position player. Bought a 50 pack and had like 10 other packs saved up and pulled a Baez and Alonso. Was 18-14 with all gold lineup. Wasn't even expecting close to a winning record. Pitching down the middle against all diamond lineups are tough to win. Also those games don't seem to reward good/good or better at near the same rate.

I haven't played RS in about 5 days, but before that it had been my main mode. My record is 45-35, so I'm not good, sitting in DS. The main reason I play it is because it is about the only thing to do (at the time).
The early events really didn't appeal to me, Showdown is what it is, but you aren't using your team. I do all the Inning conquest maps, but just work bit by bit at the big map. Luckily we've had some programs drop, and the new LS event isn't too bad. But for awhile it was the only mode that made sense for me to play.

Constantly u r cruising next thing u know u are right there for a ball 99 Sandberg botches it and the following guy hits a double to score a run... Ridiculous
-
Honestly I limit myself to one loss a day. I play until I lose then I go play COD or BF2 the rest of the day. I used to get myself all stressed & anxiety attacks over trying to make WS. Once I set the rule of once I lose - That’s it for the day I quit having the emotional problems. Worked for me, Just passing it along.
