“Unrealistic” things happen every now and then in baseball. That’s why OP felt this was post worthy. Was it realistic that a dude threw back to back no hitters, in his rookie year? Or two grand slams in one inning?

Unrealistic things happening in baseball is realistic.

The only issue I see with 99s is everyone thinks every program should be 99s now which it seems more so programs are now there to help build set collections more so than god squads

Considering the early 99s available I don't think it's unreasonable to have the ultimate reward in programs be a 99. POTM does it and as much as they're fudging attributes this year (Nick Ahmed has a high diamond, mind) they could give anyone a 99.

The FD program last weekend could easily have done this but they went the cash grab route and put the only good cards in packs.

Only way this isn't the new norm is if the game flops financially.

So, the Holliday pack in the program wasn't guaranteed for everyone?

My main complaint has always been my Cardinals theme team.

7 out of the top 10 Cardinals in the game are set 1.
5 out of 6 of the 99 overall cardinal cards are set 1
We lose our only pitching captain, Wainwright, and whatever parallel levels you have earned

There is little doubt in my mind that to use this team with Season 3 content on July 7th, it is going to mean using a lesser team in season 3 than I have in the earlier seasons. I can't say I am thrilled at the prospect of going backwards

How much that affects me? We will see.

Just find a new team to root for. How are the Cubs in set 2?

I like the idea of some interesting cards beyond the classic baseball card layout or a player with lightning bolts (ooh, scary), but the Takashi cards are a little too far, too fast for me. I don’t even recognize some of the players at first glance. It’s like going from the Sims right to anime tentacle porn.

Congrats man. It is a great feeling especially after the tough opponents and strategies you had to employ. I’d join ya but ranked is just too sketchy for me this year, but enjoy that WS pack.

They did Perez dirty on his K/per 9.

Well, his k/9 rating in May was not outstanding.

Adam Wainwright has a k/9 this season of 6.5 and has a 56 in his k/9 attribute in the game.
Perez, for the month of May, struck out 7.02 per 9 and and has a 69 k/9 attribute.
Skubal struck out 10.6 batters per 9 and they only gave him a k/9 attribute of 75 for his POTM card.

So Perez in May was a .5 strikeouts better than Wainwrights season number but is 13 attribute points higher. Skubal was 3.5 strikeouts better than Perez in May and is only 6 attribute points better. Sounds like Skubal was done dirty more.

The game/SDS does not know how to quantify pitchers who get the job done by inducing soft/weak contact. They rely to heavily on K/9.
