you must be much better than I am, I had to powerswing to finish it, when I played my way it ended tied 17 - 17 with about 20 long flyouts to centerfield

It's simple: I hate power swinging. Showdown is about one side of the game; I'm old school. I like defense and pitching combined with hitting; I structure my teams to play with speed, and Showdown is all about sabermetrics.

Because they hate the people that play this game, You must be new here.
-
Let me point it out again, Showdown is the worst mode in this game by far, it's even less tolerable than playing online. It's the best example of how disconnected SDS is from its customers. They remove all of the moments from manuy programs and throw in a showdown, somehow it must be less effort for them. Last year it was terrible and somehow this year it's ten times worse.

This was the worst possible way to release these, SDS should have just put these in everyones inventory. For those of us who have a life, this consolation prize for this year's game sucking massive amounts of [censored] didn't apply.
-
New inning program, all star content and no the show live. That speaks volumes about SDS and where they see their customer base right now.

@Dolenz_PSN
He will, I just think he's played well enough to get a spotlight or topps now... I digress -
It takes true love to admit when something you care about isn't living up to expectations.

Still no Chase Burns, SDS has a blind spot regarding him
-
Really starting to suspect someone as SDS bet money that Chase Burns wouldn't get a card. We get cards out the [censored] for Chapman, Misiosowski and almost any other player. They have released one chase burns, the live series. Now they'll release another for the ASG, no City scape. summer series or another series not even a tops now. ERA still hovering at 2.00. in the top 10 in the NL in almost everything. But to SDS it means nothing.

I'm about ready to give up on the game for this year; my goodwill towards SDS is long gone. Only my love of the game (baseball, not MLB The Show) keeps me coming back. This year has been a wholesale disappointment. I keep hoping that they'll actually address the numerous concerns of people, but they don't. You can only play WBC miniseasons so many times before you fire up MVP Baseball 2005 on your PC with all of it's mods or try and play Earl Weaver Baseball on your amiga emulator. The state of the game is very sad.

Last Year I played almost exclusively with my Reds dreamteam, This year that's almost impossible. I ended up creating different rosters to earn the rewards for the Spotlight/player programs

These forums are almost exclusively complaints from both online and offline players. Online players think offline players shouldn't complain about being forced online, and offline players are irritated that they need to go online. Because it is such a different experience than playing offline. I am a 99% offline player who will only play online to get a specific player not offered offline. My observation is that online and offline are two separate games and should be treated as such by SDS. The problem stems from SDS claiming you can 'play your way '; the reality is you can't. I wish they would integrate Franchise into play vs. CPU so you can use DD players mixed with created players and earn PXP for those players in the game, while still playing the actual MLB schedule. In my experience, SDS repeatedly sets unrealistic expectations for the game, from Ramone claiming that a perfect/perfect with a power hitter will almost always be a home run. Or the two current hosts claiming you can play your way. You can't... this year's game is a disappointment to both online and offline communities. I played actual baseball all the way through college and three years of independent leagues. The real game was frustrating enough, so I play it not only to connect with it but also to experience the feeling of competing in the game I love again. So yes, I want the game to be fun and challenging, but at the end of the day I want to be successful. So if me playing with directional hitting and playing on All-Star or veteran makes me a subpar player. I frankly don't care. I play because the game lets me feel the way I did when I was playing. Playing online against people who bunt dance on every pitch, slide into first, and power-swing at everything, then quit if I get a lead, simply is not fun.

Sell Equipment/Unlockables and sponsorships on mlb26.theshow.com; you'll maximize your stubs, at least I think so.

He has had an amazing season, There should have been a card released by now. I don't understand why SDS has been ignoring his season.
-
I would rather hit myself in the bathing suit area with a hammer than play a showdown, but that's me I'm a cat of a different breed
-
I am skipping out because online is full of cheaters, bots and general toxic players. Excuse me if I have free will and choose to exercise it.
-
Nope, just minimally observant. The core of what I said is simple: there should be ways for online and offline players to earn all rewards by 'playing how they wish to' I have no more desire for you to play offline than I do to play multiplayer. I played the event long enough to get Castenallos as a Red's fan this year has been a major disappointment with releases, so it feels as though to get one of the 20 Reds released, I had no choice. In my opinion, the only thing worse than the toxicity of online play is the monotony of Showdown. That's it.

I don't think so, when I play Miniseasons, it's 28 game seasons. I would rather talk to sabermetrics junkies about baseball than play Diamond Quest more than once. No, I don't do the bunt thing to win a game, I play on all-star with 74% or higher chance and usually it plays out in my favor. yes, I have played the wbc miniseason a lot. But seriously, the real reward is the championship banner, with five, you can exchange for 5 BIAH packs. Regular packs rarely give any serious rewards. So, offline is not more rewarding. My point was that both should mirror one another to truly give a play how you want reality.
-
It's not equal, there is a multiplayer "online path' there is no equivalent for offline players. There are several players exclusive to the path. As an offline player, it's harder to earn stubs, you get fewer rewards, and hearing online players whine about conquest and miniseasons is the biggest joke there is. For those of us who choose not to pursue the multiplayer path, there should be a single-player path to mirror it, with rewards for doing so. Also, there is no reason for an online player to talk down to or belittle offline players. The simple point remains the game is not 'play how you wish" it's play how we dictate you should play. Single player and multiplayer users should be unified in as much as both path should mirror one another and all rewards should be sellable and thereby buyable.
